Agreed. She isnít even a citizen, so why isnít she being deported?

Richard and Mayumi Heene, the parents of the boy falsely reported to have floated away in a homemade balloon last month, will plead guilty in a deal to ensure Mayumi, a Japanese citizen, averts the possibility of deportation that any felony conviction could bring, according to news reports Thursday.

wife, Mayumi, will plead guilty to false reporting to authorities, a misdemeanor.
A green card holder(non-citizen) can't be deported for a misdemeanor.

It shouldn’t be a misdemeanor given the thousands spent by taxpayers on this hoax. Are you condoning this woman?

You asked a question and he answered it ... correctly I might add. Why are you accusing him of something? Do you have some sort of axe to grind?

Learn the difference between a question and an accusation. If you MUST know, some have a reputation for defending all behavior of non-citizens. I have no ax to grind, do you?

Hint: An accusation would have been, “Why are you condoning the behavior of this woman?”

That's her modus operandi. Ultra-defensive.

So you know better than the law enforcement officials involved right? I wasn't condoning anything, i was just pointing out the facts and specifics of the case. Apparently, you are not interested in the facts.

BTW, this doesn't even belong in the illegal immigration forum.

No, I donít know better than law enforcement. However, I do know that thousands of dollars and lots of manpower were squandered on this hoax, and this couple should suffer the consequences. If this woman has no regard for our laws, she is certainly not the caliber of immigrant we need in this country. We already have enough homegrown con artists.

Perhaps she is a victim of domestic violence and participated under duress. That would be the only reason I can think of for them to absolve her of this crime.
