Face it: in this nasty recession; those 'jobs that Americans won't do' look real good to especially people whose unemployment ran out.
Those jobs indeed have been available through the recession, which by the way, appears to be easing up, now, what has happened? our local potential candidates for jobs don't go near them, they rather stay at home very cozy, getting their unemployment entitlements, while the migrant workers continue sustaining our economy by working the farms, remember agriculture continues being the most important sector in the us economy, without the migrant workers, the economy would just collapse,
you call them losers!!!!, I call them heroes.......

OK, Sparky......And the difference between "migrant workers" and "illegal aliens" is....... As this forum is for the discussion of illegal immigration....

Other than Your "business" going belly up (plus so many others)

can You supply the negative effect to the USA if all of the illegals were not here?

For one thing, I kind of like "Sparky", now regarding the migrant workers, yes, most of them are undocumented, that doesn't change the fact that
these workers have been instrumental in keeping our economy afloat...

You are right about this. They won't work those jobs, they haven't for a very long time. It has always been the immigrants, even Puerto Ricans who are American citizens who have done these type of jobs. The locals will stay home getting their checks while they blame the economy, affirmative action or racism depending on their race and/or illegal immigration.

It can't be real!!!!!, someone with clarityand objectivity in this forum, and you are right about the portorricans they harvest the coffee in Puerto Rico, then they help with the north-east farms in the spring-summer, many times having homes both in Puert Rico and in the main land, and you know what, they are among the happiest people you will ever meet.....

This makes no sense. Puerto Ricans are also "locals".

If you think no Illegals are abusing the social service system you are very very wrong.

In many cases getting an unemployment check constitutes more money than taking a minimum wage job. It is a matter of survivial to support one's family. After that runs out just wait and see what an American will do to support their family.

Agricultural workers only make up 2% of our workforce so no our economy would not collapse without illegal workers to take those jobs. There are visas available for such jobs to import legal workers for them.

Law breakers are never heroes. What are you smoking?

What a bunch of nonsense. Many employers don't give a damn about American workers. The reason many employees hire illegal aliens is because they are illegal aliens, and not because they can't find American workers to fill the jobs. By hiring illegal aliens, employers can pay cheaper wages with no benefits, and they'll have employees who won't complain about unhealthy or dangerous working conditions.

Illegal aliens do NOT sustain our economy. All of the workers in our country's workforce sustain our economy, and our workforce doesn't need to include any illegal aliens in order for our economy to be sustained.

Illegal aliens are lawbreakers, pure and simple. People who support illegal aliens support lawbreaking. If you think of these lawbreakers as your heroes, then that tells us a lot about you.
