There are nearly homogenous countries that don't get along. It isn't culture or race that holds a country together. Or the necessity of having a dominant race.
What holds a country together is financial stability.

Take financial stability away from ANY country and it will fall apart.

You sound bitter that the ethnics are "taking over" or something. Like you're losing a dominant position, and you're saddened by it. You don't have much faith in this country if you think it's too intolerant to handle diversity. I'd like to think more of the American people, which for me might include more than it does for others on here.

Countries that extolled the virtues of having one culture, one religion and one race have failed horribly. Nazi Germany for example.
Not to say what your'e saying necessarily describes Nazi Germany, but your thinking is the groundwork that leads to that kind of thing.
Why are you twisting his words? Please direct me to where macmeal even alluded to a desire for a dominant “race” in this country. We are discussing “culture,” which, by the way, is not determined by race or skin color. We are trying to have a meaningful discussion, so please discard the defunct race card.

It’s funny you should mention financial stability as being the determinant of a cohesive nation, while the illegals you support are bankrupting this country.

Thanks. With three MAJOR races of mankind in my own extended family...(and TWO races in my marriage)....along with probably 25 separate 'ethnicities' of various stripes in my 'inner circle' of relatives..it DOES get a bit wearisome having to explain myself. CULTURE isn't race, nor is it ethnic background...CULTURE is the 'window' by which we observe the rest of the world. It includes our concept of 'right and wrong', 'stupid and sensible', 'decent and indecent', and what is 'appropriate' vs what is not.

I'm getting weary of going over this, but thanks for the backup. And, in conclusion, I got to thinking about my extended family, and came to the realization that there's NO ONE in the family that I'm aware of, who traces his/her roots 'back to England'...not ONE (possibly some distant in-law?). In other words, speaking for my own family, not ONE of us belongs to "the Group" which founded the United States...yet we're all here, and we're all prospering, because of what "those people" did. And if you want to call them 'anglos', go right ahead...I don't care. I'm just glad they did what they did...and neither I, nor ANYONE whom I'm aware of in my family, has ANY DESIRE WHATSOEVER to "go back home" to where our ancestors came from...(or, in the case of those who are aboriginal 'natives' here, to go back to the living conditions of their ancestors). And yes, I AM including a number of people who share a WHOLE LOT of heritage with today's illegal immigrants.

The people in my family aren't "like" our ancestors...(even if a few of those ancestors were illegal...or crooks...or pirates...or just 'bad'). We've changed. We're Americans now.
