COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) -- A judge is allowing Ohio to cancel the registrations of thousands of vehicles largely driven by undocumented immigrants.

Monday's ruling was a defeat for the League of United Latin American Citizens.

If stopped by police, drivers who can't provide adequate identification risk going to jail, with undocumented immigrants potentially facing deportation.

Ohio sent notices in October to the owners of more than 47,000 vehicles, informing them that their registrations would be canceled if they did not provide an Ohio driver's license, Ohio identification card or proof of a Social Security number by Dec. 8.
Well there goes possibly 47,000 vehicles that will now be unable to buy insurance and will continue to drive anyways. Did they even give this much thought to what the fallout will be?

Do you really believe that those 47,000 vehicles are now insured?

Yeah, honestly last time I checked in many states, if not all, one Needs a valid drivers license to purchase automobile insurance. Furthermore this does not de-register the automobiles of illegal immigrants, it de-registers the Automobiles of persons operating them without a valid license...many of whom just happen to be illegals.

Kinda hard to drive when you're in a jail cell.

Yes, I think they did give much thought to what the fallout will be...hopefully a mass exodus of illegal aliens from Ohio.

Even harder if you’re on an ICE bus.

In most States you have to produce:

A. A valid DL
B. A valid registration card
C. A valid insurance card

What makes anyone think Illegals should get a free pass on this. It is not a RIGHT to drive but a privilege.
Take the bus Illegals. Better yet buy a bike or walk.

Mach50: your disdain for the Rule of Law here in the USA as it pertains to illegal aliens is well known.

As for that 47K vehicles; may the police stop them and immediately arrest anybody here illegally then kick 'em out of the USA-----------forever.

No disdain, just common sense. If you can't enforce it all, then it is not enforced at all.

My point is this will not stop any of those illegals from driving, cops are not going to pull 47k people over and jail them. This won't change a thing.
