News, In Mexico, migrants fear U.S. immigration plan.
MONTERREY, Mexico — Many in Mexico expressed disappointment Friday with the U.S. Congress' immigration reform proposal, arguing it doesn't let enough Mexicans enter the United States legally to work, while focusing on an arduous path to residency for those who have already taken the illegal path.
DEAL REACHED: Kennedy defends immigration compromise
Mexican news media and activists attacked what they viewed as a measure to limit the number of seasonal workers allowed into the United States — even as the compromise's proponents said it would let in many more.

In other news, my neighbor is upset because I didn't invite him to my party. Life's a [female dog].
The article is what peeves me about illegal immigration in general and Mexico in particular. No country is required to allow anyone to immigrate, for any reason whatsoever. This is simple sovereignty at work here. If Mexico is angry...well...that's just tough cookies. Maybe Mexico should spend more energy getting its own house in order rather than focusing on what other countries do.

Ya, that's just like 'em. Sit back and criticize this country while their own country wallows in corruption and greed. This just demonstrates that much of latin america view America as one big ATM machine and the corrupt politicians and corporations here are the ones at the controls.
There will be a serious backlash in this country if our own politicians continue to sell out American citizens just so they can get cheap labor for their lobbyist corporations and votes from the ready-made serfs they wish to import.

If mex like it here so much, why don't they try to reform their own country, and bleed them dry?
Oh, I forgot, the government over there is to busy making money, that mex bring back with them into mexico (US $$$$), and to busy to "send out their troups" into the US, plundering.
In ALL history books that I know of, this action would be called an INVASION!!!!!

Well, this bill is still in its infancy stage. Dozens of senators are coming out to support it and none of them have even read it yet. It's 200 pages long and I guarantee you, there's going to be something in it that hidden away in the fine print that will disgust most Americans. What ticks me off is the Senate isn't even going to allow a debate on this proposal. This thing is going straight to a vote without being scrutinized. Gee why would they want to do that? Hiding something maybe?
Has Pelosi even scheduled a debate on this yet? The House has to pass its own version, then it has to go to reconciliation committee. This thing is a long way from being a done deal.

I so hope you are right!
The more people have to look at it, the more flaws will be discovered. (At least, one assumes)

Am I supposed to care that Mexicans are unhappy with the immigration limits? The only thing I can hope is that because they also don't like the "reformed" immigration policy it will be scrapped and we can start enforcing the existing policy.

It doesn't surprise me, no matter what the new proposal these clowns come up with, it will never be enough for the illegals who will soon be the legals.

The illegals want a free pass. They are criminals and will do whatever they want. If we make it easy enough for them they will become legal residents. Otherwise they will do whatever they want anyway. They are used to picking and choosing which laws they are going to obey.

Write, phone, email
Everybody who feels like this really needs to write, phone and email their elected officials to let them know that if they don't come out against this they will be enjoying their LAST term in office. Too often we complain but don't make our voices heard where they will count. Everyone can do their part to help get what we want, after all those politicians work for us and we elect them to do so. Let them know that this is the number one agenda that will swing your vote in the next election. If they don't vote the way you want spend an afternoon outside a major shopping center in your area and make sure all your neighbors know, collect signatures on a petition you draft and mail it to your representatives and senators, take a small ad out in the local paper and let people know how they voted on it too.............get everyone you know involved, too often we all (me especially) let our selves be convinced we can't make a difference but I bet with enough of us ACTIVELY getting the word out we may just make that difference, this is our country we have worked for it and often risk our lives for it, we deserve to really have a say in how it is run and the policies it makes. Off my soapbox for now.
