Where do these people get their nerve? Illegals are demanding legalization, as though they have a right to be here. Now, we have their countries of origin demanding a seat at our negotiation table. Heaven forbid, illegals should return home and start demanding changes from their own governments; or that these countries should accept responsibility for their own citizens, rather than relying on U.S. taxpayers.

Cheap labor is the name of the game; which is precisely why the citizens of this country are the least of their concerns. These countries realize the U.S. corporate masters have become addicted to cheap labor, and they are more than willing to barter their underclass. After all, they ARE expendable. It’s a win-win for them and the greedy employers of illegal aliens. They can send their uneducated masses to the U.S. and lessen their own burden, while reaping billions in remittances. Meanwhile, the greed-obsessed corporations can continue to compete against the “slave” wages in China and India.
With the exception of the meager wages paid to illegal aliens, and the lack of physical coercion and confinement, parallels exist between our current cheap labor industry and our former slave trade. In both scenarios, the “masters” receive a steady supply of exploitable cheap labor, while the leadership of foreign countries benefit from a steady source of revenue. Only now, foreign countries receive monthly remittances from their citizen rejects, rather than being compensated directly on a per-head basis. I guess this is the “humane” strategy. However, unlike the former slave trade, U.S. taxpayers foot the bill for the expenses of this cheap labor workforce; and, all who oppose are branded as racists and xenophobes. Actually, it’s quite ingenious; particularly, the “racism” component. After all, few relish the idea of being considered a racist, especially in our PC-driven nation.
There will be no amnesty; but there will be a reduction in enforcement under the guise of humanitarianism. The handwriting is on the wall. They are releasing “non-violent” illegals from our prisons (too costly); they have halted workplace raids, instead focusing on the employers (a joke); they are systematically eliminating 287(g) due to alleged racial profiling and discrimination (another joke); they refuse to mandate E-Verify for all employment; they have even set a precedent for changing the legal terminology from illegal alien to “undocumented” at the Supreme Court level, thus marginalizing illegal immigration. Not to mention, Napolitano proclaiming non-criminal status to illegal aliens.
We can expect a continuation of the status quo, while Congress prolongs debates between the Gutierrez and Schumer so-called immigration reform bills. The Gutierrez bill was deliberately drafted so absurdly as to give the Schumer bill the appearance of a viable compromise. Neither bill resolves our illegal immigration problems, and essentially repeats the 1986 “final” amnesty bill. Moreover, our government is as ill-prepared to enforce the proposed laws as our current.
While we continue to debate the issue, illegal immigration will continue to flourish, and the middle class will continue to sink further into the abyss. As long as illegals are permitted to work, and employers can reap the benefits, all is well. Sadly, U.S. citizens are simply collateral damage in the elites’ quest for global competitiveness. Clearly, between illegal immigration, outsourcing, and in-sourcing, the middle class is being screwed. Problem is, who will supply the tax base to sustain this country once the middle class has been eradicated?

The problem is the first world nations will get lowered standards by the sheer number of third world nation people moving into them.
The social programs offered here in the US are worth the fight for any illegal to come here.

Overall, I tend to agree with You HT....But I take articles such as this one and copy ( with link) and save it....and will post it in a forum in some out of state newspaper. Sometimes I get yelled at, along with the expected race card being played, and sometime a discussion actually gets going....
While the MSM may not be doing it's job, that doesn't mean I can't do a little bit of "spreading the word"
As the unemployment rates rise (while they still pay taxes) I'm thinking this is starting to come onto the radar of a lot more people.
