What happens to the employers whose entire business model is based on paying illegal aliens off the books, not following overtime rules or safety standards or finding scared and desparate workers who would take just about any job, no matter how nasty, just for money? They will need a new group of workers that can be exploited.

Who will take the jobs that Americans do not want to do when the previously illegal aliens are now legal?
First of all I doubt that a mass amnesty will be granted. Not with 10%+ unemployment.
Those terrible jobs Americans won't do? Yet another line of BS from the pro-illegal side. Do you mean like construction work? Landscaping?Jobs like those? I would imagine that Americans who were low balled out of their jobs will once again do them.
Employers who pay under the table will have to compete against honest business. Whoa imagine that... Maybe they will fold, and legitimate companies will expand.
In short getting rid of illegals will be a short term pain followed by long term gains. We don't need illegals to survive as a nation.

That's a good question and yes, I agree that we all know that they don't just do those jobs that "Americans won't do."

Most of the jobs Americans won't do are mostly illegal jobs that pay under min wage, under the table or have working conditions that aren't even close to being legal.

My son who is attending college while working as a dishwasher. He is glad to have this job. Seniors who can still work. The millions of unemployed right now who just want a little income when their unemployment runs out. America first!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As you stated.

Interesting piece of trivia here: those nations with generous social welfare programs (Sweden, Denmark, etc.) also have very strict immigration policies---------something the USA (and Canada) would be wise to implement.

The amnestied illegals, will be the new employers of the illegals, just like last time.

Job loss for real Americans multiplies like rabbits, and hogs, with no predators.

We need to be the predator and not the prey.

Isn't it a bit ironic that while illegal these workers are "just the best, the hardest workers in American", but make them legal and viola they instantly turn into lazy Americans.
The current batch of illegals will lose their jobs to the next batch called in to replace them. Sickening shame.

Landscapers, illegal nannies and maids, dishwashers and janitors working for less than minimum wage can be let go and once legal can apply for unemployment, SSI, or other welfare handouts. There will be plenty more willing to work illegally and the politicians already claim they can't do anything about illegal workers or illegal employers who bring them in by the semi-trailer loads.
But I thought your guys' whole argument is that Americans are willing to do these jobs..so what would make illegal immigrants give them up?

E-verify will force illegals off those jobs and deny any future ones from getting hired. For any jobs that Americans won't do and there aren't many, we can import LEGAL immigrants for them.

You're missing the point. Posters are sarcastically stating the often repeated claim by the pro-illegal immigration folks that illegal aliens are only doing the jobs that Americans won't do. So if Congress gives these illegal aliens amnesty and American citizenship, they would no longer want to do their jobs because they would now be Americans, and according to the pro-illegal immigration folks, Americans won't do these jobs.
