If Obama's Shamnesty program goes through. We will have millions of (former)Illegals qualifying for minimum wage, further depressing wages in several employment sectors such as Construction,Manufacturing,Retail and more. Also impacting Healthcare and Social Services. Employers would hire these people for far less leading to lower wages acroos the board.

Inner city youths (especially African Americans),teenagers, single moms and Retirees who need the extra income to survive would greatly be impacted. Unemployment/Underemployment numbers will rise and the quality of life for many will decline. If Obama's Hope and Change message included continuation of 2 wars, his failed Economic policies, record Unemployment,Socialism,Market Manipulation and the general decline of of the American way of life he would never had been elected.

That's short term, in the long term the waves of new Illegals will continue to slash wages for the entire lower and middle class American work force.

If Obama can't keep out 1 Nigerian terrorist (after being warned no less) how does he expect to keep out millions of future Illegal aliens ? The systemic failure Obama speaks of is his policies and his entire Administration.

Yep. That's why I think it is funny that the Obama Administration is even considering amnesty or even listening to these groups on amnesty.

Obama is just pretending to keep the waters calm. He and congress will drag this out as long as they can until they are forced into a corner and they already know that granting amnesty would be political suicide. It will go just like the last time it was brought up....no where. Our only hope is that e-verify will finally be mandated across the board and that many of them will leave and deter anymore from coming here. I think border security will be beefed up also.

There are other issues that need to be addressed also and that is the birthright citizenship clause and the denial of taxpayer benefits to anyone not legally in our country. Those will be bigger fish to fry.

They also still won't learn English and defend it by saying it's too hard.

Quicksand works slowly, boxing rings are square and a guinea pig is neither from Guinea nor is it a pig.

One goose, 2 geese. So one moose, 2 meese? Doesn't it seem crazy that you can make amends but not one amend.

If you have a bunch of odds and ends and get rid of all but one of them, what do you call it? Is it an odd, or an end?

In what language do people
  • recite at a play and play at a recital?
  • ship by truck and send cargo by ship?
  • have noses that run and feet that smell?
How can a slim chance and a fat chance be the same, while a wise man and a wise guy are opposites?
You have to marvel at the unique lunacy of a language in which your house can burn up and down at the same time and, in which you fill in a form by filling it out, and in which, an alarm goes off by going on.
Why do you drive on a parkway and park on a driveway.
creativity of the human race, which, of course, is not a race at all.

Kind of boggles the mind.
I hope this doesn't get passed.

Article in YESTERDAY'S LA Times:
White House prepares for immigration overhaul battle - latimes.com

From the link:
Reporting from Washington - With the healthcare battle still unfinished, the Obama administration has been laying plans to take up an issue that could prove even more divisive -- a major overhaul of the nation's immigration system.

Senior White House aides privately have assured Latino activists that the president will back legislation next year to provide a path to citizenship for the estimated 12 million illegal immigrants living in the United States.

Someone 'splain to me, please:
Healthcare reform for legal US citizens

Immigration reform creates 12 million NEW legal US citizens who make low wages.

New citizens making low wages qualify for reduced or nearly free healthcare.

If/when the time comes, how much more will it cost us than what we're being told?

At the bolded: Exactly, Washington isn't using logic in any of this and we are going to be fools if we let them proceed to pretend that the costs of amnesty will not be a problem. There are some committees in Washington that do present information, but sometimes it is only within the committee. There's another good point in there: the immigrants that we get that are illegal are low-skilled and live in poverty. Immigration is supposed to not be so based on low-skilled labor, but also an addition of skilled and non-social welfare burdering people. It sounds blunt, but giving amnesty and continuing to allow illegal immigrants to enter the country at these numbers is like someone took a big, fat steaming pile of you-know-what on the country. I'm not trying to equate the human beings to that, but the excess number of those who come into the country as low-skilled workers (and some don't even have jobs) is not positive for the country.
