How can any state offer benefits to illegals, while they deny benefits to our veterans?

Quote:
The issue of immigration must be looked at from two different points of view ó the first dealing with those people who are in the United States legally and the second with those here illegally.

Some time ago, a disabled man who had served in the Army National Guard was in my office in desperate need of dental work, which is no longer provided by the commonwealth. This veteran was extremely upset that the state was considering providing benefits to illegal immigrants while telling him they could not afford to repair his painful teeth.

How can we as a commonwealth say no to this man who has served his country but say yes to creating entitlements for illegal immigrants? This proposal shows the governor and the liberals who support such measures have misguided priorities.

That's messed up. I'd be all for fighting for this person. As a disabled person and a veteran, he shouldn't go without without healthcare, including dental work.

This sounds like an important issue in itself; it's too bad it's being attached to another issue. Where the focus should be on the fact that there are disabled Americans and veterans who are going without, it's being put in the context of illegal immigration, and will be dismissed as "yet another reason to be mad about illegals".

I wonder how the people, who are angry about this in the context of illegal immigration, would feel about this in the context of health care reform.
Any Tea Party people here?

When illegals receive benefits being denied to our veterans, it is indeed relevant to illegal immigration. Granted, this is a disgrace under any circumstance; but you can’t ignore the connection.

A connection? The most important thing in this case is a disabled veteran isn't getting benefits. That should be the issue. Disabled veterans not receiving benefits.

The main focus shouldn't be illegal immigration. Somebody is making a connection, in a way hijacking an important issue for another agenda.

but illegals dont get free health care...

people think they do and when they hear of legislation to allow free dental helath care they cinfuse what is proposed with what is really the case.

thats why framing it in a context of illegal immigration is silly. deal with the facts. illegals dont get free dental work. this guy, with an adequate benefits counselor, can rightfully recieve these services.

So, you see nothing wrong with illegal aliens receiving benefits that a veteran is denied? Yes, the issue is the fact that this man was denied benefits, but to offer benefits to illegal aliens is a slap in the face.

It's basicly: We don't care about the problem, We don't know how to solve the problem, So let's pretend it isn't happening(it's been 12 million illegals for how long?)and bury our heads in the sand.

What proof do you have that illegals don't receive free dental care. They receive everything else free. Iím sure if they receive ďfreeĒ organs, dental work is not farfetched.

Absolutely! How anyone can attempt to deny that this is relevant to the issue of illegal immigration, is beyond me.
