Italy is one of many countries growing tired of dealing with illegals and their entitlment mentality.
Italy is taking the right approach. Amnesty is not the answer. Offering rewards to commit crimes generally results in more crime for more rewards.

I spent a few months in Italy last year and I can tell you that there is a lot of illegal immigration there...however if you can afford to pay the price they will let you stay! If not...you will run into serious difficulty. So pay to stay or become someones fall guy!

Just wait and see. We will someday (soon) be at a place where we will no longer be able to expel these people and will have to entice them to leave by paying them. I think it's called extortion.
