That analogy doesn't make sense...they aren't the same.

They are both examples of unlawful behavior.

How about legal citizens have the right to be treated equally with all other citizens regardless of race, creed, or sexual orientation. Illegal immigrants are just that -- people who are in the country illegally, working illegally and are most likely commiting identity fraud. They are in no way a legal citizen nor should they expect to be treated as such. They should not vote, they should not be eligible for social welfare programs including housing, food stamps and the like.

They are nothing like the citizens of this country who suffered under Jim Crow. Do you deny this?

So we should go against Dr. King's wish for ALL of humanity to be treated fairly? Shouldn't we try to serve as a model for making a balanced reform that appeals to both sides...one that is humane and temperate.

Don't be mad if YOU make analogies that lack logic. Here's a tip, don't make dumb analogies. It doesn't make a point and then you throw a tantrum. Save YOURSELF the hassle.

You mean a borderless world? Nations should no longer have sovreignity? Maybe we should have planes on standby in every city in every country in the entire world to bring whomever would like to come? No background checks, no reasonable idea if they can support themselves or not. Is that the US you envision? Or is the immigration free for all only for certain folks?

Also, Dr King really was more concerned about black Americans not being allowed an education, not being allowed to vote then he ever would have been about illegal immigrants working under the table.

Did I say that (in bold)? Don't extrapolate things that aren't there. Keep things in context.

Dr. King was concerned with the larger picture of global parity.
