Just start talking to them.

I have no problem with that, being bilingual is an advantage, we should all learn spanish, sometimes I call a business and the waiting period is too long, then I call back using the spanish feature and usually get through rapidly, wake up usa!!!, to learn spanish here is a big advantage.....
You know you brought up a topic that hasn't been responsed to in 3 years? The person you quoted is long gone from here

And Spain is in dire straits. But not to fret. Chile is the next up and coming country in Latin America not Brazil. Brazil is way over hyped and, in fact, Chile will become Latin America's first developed country in this decade.

If anything I would rather speak Portuguese, because at least Brazil is a developing country.

Not one Spanish country is developing.

Why then do none of the hispanics fleeing their own countries ever think to flee to a Spanish speaking country? Why do they all manage to bypass the 22 Spanish speaking nations and can only manage to get to the English speaking nation?

In the Western Hemisphere, the 3 top countries as far as standard of living are the USA, Canada, and Barbados. How coincidental is that?

Brazil is doing well - but it's not a Spanish speaking nation either. Where is the big advantage in learning Spanish? Why would we want to become a Spanish speaking nation?

Any of BRIC countries would be useful to learn.

English will always be a prominent language

Yep. Spanish is def a red flag there. Cant say race cause Hispanic aint a race, its a culture. Spain is white, Mexico is Indian, Dominicans are Black.

Look here at Arizona: the barrios are nasty. I dont like sayin this but even brown Latinos who are middle class DONT have that campesino look bout them. Many anglos say they mix em up with Italians.
