She was from Ireland and admitted she was here illegally after her visitor permit expired and she never had a work permit. Obviously her striking looks and perfect command of English made her a lot more valuable for waitressing and bartending work than your basic Mexican or Savadoran man but she was just as illegal. She said she had been here for 5 or 6 years and had NEVER been without a job! She never signed a lease, just roomated with Americans who could easily get a house or apartment rented.

There has got to be millions of "stealth" non-hispanic illegals who "pass" like this in the US.
There are especially in the big cities..NY, Boston, Chicago usually working as bartenders, waiters, nannies if from Ireland,England,France, dancers/strippers if female from the eastern bloc countries...
They assimilate and blend in, most don't ever bring attention to themselves and most do not ever apply for charity...housing..food stamps etc etc

Assimilation being the key, that and not demanding anything.

Exactly, that is why they are here sometimes for years undetected.
Go to any so called "Irish Pub" in NY or Boston most have the brogue and at least a few of them have over stayed their welcome.

Go down to the boardwalk in Wildwood NJ during the summer many of the concession workers are Irish students and many don't go back to Ireland when their visas expire

With the open door policy currently in this country, why would they?

I know....and they are taking jobs from Americans....you have any idea what a nannie is paid in one of the big cities..not to shabby
Bartenders in a decent pub in the big cities make out pretty well tip wise as well, and I've seen kids coming in and filling out resumes in some of the restaurants, pubs in NYC

There won't be a Mass Deportation. Illegals will disipate like Winter changes to Spring. Like the change in seasons.

Just like they did in here in Oklahoma and are now doing in Arizona

Many in Brooklyn, NY. The Russians have staked a claim on Brighton Beach/Coney Island and I'm sure many are not legal. They have slowly but consistently moved in on other areas in Brooklyn and the boroughs. I'm sure that many are not legal as there is a strong presence of Russian Mafia and all of its trappings. There are enough banks in this particular area to put The Cayman Islands to shame. Can anyone say "money laundering"?

No, since there is a little something called the black market. As long as there is more money here, wiling workers, and a need for cheap labor...there will be illegal immigrants. Just this time, more will be working in the informal sector.

Just like they did in here in Oklahoma and are now doing in Arizona

Some say that what is happening in Arizona and OK are simply the same trends as in the rest of the nation. That due to the current recession there was a minor decrease in the rate of increase of illegal immigrants.

A ca. 40% drop in illegals (here in Arizona) is quite significant, trust me.
