we can't be a country that continues to run on the theory that it is a good idea to REWARD BAD BEHAVIOR, that's why!
other countries have to learn to fix their own problems and we don't have to be a safety valve for another country.
we now have an idiotic approach to the taliban where we are not only trying to kill them, but we are trying to buy them off as well, and we not only try to kill them but we give them a public forum here while we fight them there. we don't profile on airplanes but we do ramp up aggression overseas. all of this, of course, is completely insane.
our country will not be able to function much longer with so many idiotic policies in place. americans are NOT RESPONSIBLE for fixing mexico's economic problems, because we have problems of our own to handle. mexico had a natural resource, oil, which they blew and now their oil fields are in decline.
since when should americans have to pay to employ workers in another country?
This is the part i love/loath
Quote:
In 2005 DHS said 850 people from countries of “special interest” were apprehended crossing our southern border. In 2006 DHS reported between 2001 and 2005 that 45,000 OTMs from countries on the U.S. list of state sponsors of terror (SST) or from countries that protected terrorist organizations and their members were released into America’s general public.
How can we, as Americans, hold a straight face and say we are securing our safety fighting over seas while the whole while we allow thousands of them to cross into our country?
Its laughable and sickening. We need to build the wall....
there certainly is no logic in this "fight on terrorism", which certainly could lead a reasonable person to wonder if this is a fight on "terrorism" at all.
why would a country not protect its own borders first and foremost in a fight against "terrorism"? if this is important enough to send soldiers overseas to get killed, wouldn't it be important enough to secure our country's borders? we don't even have foreign airlines entering our air space properly monitored by our own homeland security.
instead, we have dumba** politicians trying to come up with even more ways to throw american taxpayer money at other countries. (i remember when schwarzenegger was trying to push the cap and trade tax on americans before).
Seal the border, then send them back. If Mexico wants to put them in prison, fine. If not, let them roam the streets down there. As borderlord said, the only part of the deal they'll uphold is the part where they get the money. The'll start on a couple of buildings, but will soon need more money, and in a few months more money, then more money-----
Like the drug war. How much have we given Mexico over the years to fight the drug war? Yet they keep needing more, and more, and more. Has there been an improvement in the last 10-20 years? If anyhting it's gotten worse, so they obviously don't put the money they already get from us to good use. Why give them more?
Secure the borders. E-Verify everyone. Get rid of the jobs and they will self deport. I would bet that if OWNERS and MANAGERS of corporations were given the ultimatum of you have 1 month to clean up your workforce. If one illegal immigrant is found working within your confounds, YOU go to PRISON, period. Start with the highest up. Then the stockbrokers, then shareholders. Then enforce it. Watch 'em scramble.
Can you imagine the owners of McDonalds or Home Depot, those making the millions threatened with prison?
Excellent point.
There is no guarantee that mexico would comply with any of the part of the agreement....other than taking the money, of course. They don't want anybody back...especially criminals.
I like the idea, but it won't fly. someone in Sacramento, Washington, or mexico will see to that.
As is Arizona; which is quite red for the most part.
