On the contrary, a poverty stricken 3rd world country will do anything for US money. Why would a poverty stricken country release their "defacto illegal alien deportees" early? They wouldn't be getting paid any more on early releases. The main underlying reason for the outsourcing of illegal alien prisoners to 3rd world prisons would be the "defacto deportation" aspect of the process. And why do we have to send the illegals to their own countries? These illegals at the very best are uninvited and unwanted border jumpers. We owe them what?

Yes, instead of the usual pattern of an illegal breaking in uninvited, collecting democratic welfare, popping out an anchor, and waiting for a democratic amnesty for illegal alien future democratic voters, if illegals faced the prospect of knowing that when apprehended and sentenced for a crime committed that the illegals could be outsourced, "defacto deported", to a 3rd world hell hole prison, that would certainly make said illegals pucker up.

Seriously, all argument aside, I see nothing more 'shocking' with sending inmates to Mexico (especially if the imates are Mexican citizens) to finish out their sentences than many other 'shocking' things we've all gotten used to over the past few decades. We 'ship' our prisoners to other states (Oregon, for example, recently had quite a few inmates serving their time in Texas, and a smaller number in Wyoming). We even 'ship' our discount coupons to El Paso, where they can be sorted by hand by legal Mexican workers just across the border.

It was once 'sacrosanct' fact that anything having to do with criminal law was the exclusive province of government. Yet today, we have at least one LARGE corporation which runs, supplies, staffs, and manages JAILS....including some pretty large jails. We have "private" water companies and sewer plants, "private" fire departments, etc. In fact, even our miltary overseas uses 'contractors' to do janitorial work, serve meals, drive trucks, etc. Some of these are foreign nationals.

In view of all this, what's so shocking about sending Mexican inmates to Mexico? We could oversee the operation if neccessary...but the cost savings would be tremendous. Mexico could keep three or FOUR inmates fed and housed for a year on the money California pays to keep one.
