His inclusive approach is the way to go. But his party’s failure to follow his lead is offering the Democrats an enormous political opportunity.

May 25, 2007 - The immigration deal worked out between Senate leaders and the White House is an unwieldy compromise nobody much likes. Democrats will mostly support it because the liberal lion, Ted Kennedy, is leading the charge. And the fact that right-wing Republicans are worked up into such a lather about the bill may give some Democrats enough reason to back it.

I've got news for you. If nobody much likes the compromise there's probably a reason for it. It's bad legislation. Everyday something new in this compromise gets exposed, and if passed it will hurt the country, and the republican party.

But it doesn't surprise me that ultra left wing Eleanor Clift thinks Bush is right on this. No real surprise there.
