There are 41,000 students attending the University of Nebraska’s three undergraduate campuses in Omaha, Lincoln, and Kearney: 35 who are in the country illegally are at the center of an intense political debate.
Actually; out of the 41K kids in the Nebraska college system, 35 are there illegally--------which is still unacceptable.
Susan Smith, who wants the law changed, told the committee, “How much of our tax dollars have to be hijacked for the benefit of some lawmakers social agenda?”
Dale Monsell, who also wants the law changed, suggested an economic compromise of sorts. Monsell said the state should let the “meatpacking companies that brought the immigrants here pay the tuition difference.”
And our natives grow restless....
I also loved reading how most of those who voted for the in-state tuition break are no longer there...
Because such a 'student'; if here illegally, is a criminal-----------what gives such losers the right to cut in line? Being an American earns one certain perks here in the USA.
Flip side: if a US citizen tried to enroll illegally in a Mexican school----------the Mx authorities would be 100% right to toss him/her out.
Hmmm The law?
They have no right to be here?
They have no right to benefit as a legal would?
The resourses used to educate illegals should be used to benefit actual citizens instead?
I can go on and on.
Good question!....For that matter, why should his GRADES matter, either? Why should his attendance make a difference? What if he doesn't even show up on campus? The main thing is, he wants a diploma...I say, give it to him. Give him a '4.0' average, too...why hold back? People who want diplomas should have one. There are plenty of diplomas to go around....and if we run out, we can photocopy blanks.
Better yet, let's just mail out diplomas to everyone...no need to show up in person; it will cut down on campus crowding. It will ALSO guarantee that everyone gets a "good" job....which, of course, everyone deserves.

Exactly, it ALL matters. It's hard enough to get in due the cap on enrollment.
