Umm I don't think that you took all those things into consideration before you wrote this post.
explain to me how poor americans and poor immigrants don't compete for the same jobs......

people need to understand exactly what is going on in this country now:
The level of employment today, at 129.5 million, is the exact same level it was in 1999. And, during this 11-year span of Japanese-like labour market stagnation, the working-age population has risen 29 million. Contemplate that for a moment; fully 29 million people competing for the same number of jobs that existed more than a decade ago. (melduke)

immigration should have been frozen years ago before we reached this untenable position. the best we can do is try and reverse the damage done by short-term thinking.

What's the point of "freezing' legal immigration when the illegals continue to pour across the borders and overstay visas etc etc? All that's doing is making the slant even MORE towards the illegals.......

<<Its in the Courts now and what ever It decides, she will indeed live with that judgement.>>

Maybe not. She was ordered to leave once before, but failed to do so. For anyone else this would mean immediate deportation at this point. The time to fight it was when she was first ordered to leave, but instead shi elected to move from where she was living (DC comes

Oops, hit the wrong key, to continue-----

DC comes to mind, but I'm not sure. That makes it look like she was trying to remain under the radar, so to speak. She has no valid reason for asylum, which she's requesting. As a matter of fact she'd probably be honored, because Kenya is very proud of Obama.

i totally agree that illegal immigrants need to leave the country. my point was that freezing it YEARS ago, before we had this economic damage, would certainly have been better than the situation we have now.

i agree that this is the situation and we HAVE to act on it. i want people to consider this statistic one more time:

Contemplate that for a moment; fully 29 million people competing for the same number of jobs that existed more than a decade ago.

that number will continue to get worse with an administration that turns a blind eye on the situation for political gain, and it will accelerate with the economy deteriorating.

shame on this administration.

Touche. The most effective thing that could be done would be to kick to the curb the 202 left wing radical amnesty progressive democrats in Congress fighting all efforts to stop illegal immigration. We mustn't forget that legal immigrants are the screened, vaccinated, "good" immigrants.

For anyone to believe that the fact that this is Obama's aunt has nothing to do with her ability to stay is eithe naive or simply ignorant of political forces. They will not deport the Aunt of the President of the USA. To do so would be career suicide. They will let the dust settle and rely on our notorious short term memory, then quietly grant perm. resident status.
Now us common folks who would love to bring a family member over can wait and agonize and in effect go pound sand. That is the reality of this situation.
The woman was ordered to leave and refused. What more need be said?
Now she gets to stay even though she defied the order to leave.
