last month two studies came out from different [highly respected and qualified]universities discussing the positive monetary effects of legalizing immigrants. that would be the opposite of a mass exodus.

would those studies suffice?

that aside. i think its funny how you think a land lord should suffer because the gov'ts inaction at the border. landlords rent to people. they are not the border patrol. and if they supplement their income with rental properties then that is their choice. unless its a managment company most people renting out those homes are not living opulent lifestyles. its ridiculous to rationalize the effects a mass exodus of illegals will have on landlords by saying, well maybe they need to "scale down thier own inflated lifestyle."

Since landlords are liable for renting to known criminals in most places--------what gives them a free skate vis a vis illegal aliens? They are also criminals.

that would have to be the law. and its not. if you want it, ask for it to be so.

also, its pretty easy to check a registry and see a sex offender. we dont have such a tracking/verification system for citizenship.
how would you know they are a "criminal". in most cases to prove negligence you would have to prove knowledge of criminlaity. how would you figure that out?

That was no assumption. That was straight out of the mouth of the illegal maid (Mina) who worked at the last hotel I was in. Dead serious. Along with her telling me 16 people were there as well, all illegal, the owners Guatemalan. She also drove me to her old house she lived in before her visa expired where her housing was subsidized, she did not take me to her present home, lucky her.

Yes, she was...we actually went to lunch, my treat as I was bored in the hotel room, I was there for months, saw her everyday and asked if she wanted to go. She also told me of her family, mother, two daughters she left behind in mexico, went to school here, free for typing, divorced, thinks her ex is in Chicago. I can go on.....thngs changed after she told me she was here illegally and started complaining about things like her rent being high and why she could not be a citizen, blah, blah...

Is one a "study" conducted by an Hispanic professor with an agenda? I'm not aware of two. Would you care to share?

Oh, I know, it's Robert Creamer. Another agenda-driven "study."

Study: Legalizing undocumented adult Latinos would be boon to state's economy | L.A. NOW | Los Angeles Times

im trying to find the longer article.

one study came out of USC, the other out of UCLA.

the difference here being that these studies at reputable institutions of higher learning go through a more rigorous approval process. they have to go through an IRB, that lends it much more credibility.

Obviously massive and uncontrolled illegal immigration benefits certain elites who like their servants as cheap as possible and unlimited, and it benefits those who benefit from high easy profits brought on by ultra cheap labor.

Overall massive illegal immigration hasn't helped the country or why is California so behind in it's budget and jobs? But of course some people such as the housing developers who made out like bandits during the big housing bubble profitted very very nicely.

Also - if tens of millions of illegals were so positive monetarily, wouldn't you think their country of origin would try to get them back? Yet over and over we see leaders like Vicente Fox try to insist that they will benefit *us* but they don't want them back.
