Yes, elections have their way of waking politicians up.

Perry has certainly been inconsistent on illegals.

Let's just hope it doesn't stop thinking they have now placated citizens. Very true, election years have a way of dictating practices. But it does show the gravity of concern regarding illegal immigration by Texans.

They could also get that many illegals on any given day at any Walmart store, so the raid was obviously just a dog and pony for show photo op. So now that just leaves 20 million illegals, mostly Mexicans, left to kick out. So why wasn't there a sweep yesterday, the day before yesterday, one today, one planned for tomorrow, in fact one planned for everyday from now on until all illegals have been rounded up and kicked out or have self deported? Oh, that would be too effective wouldn't it? That would p iss off too many criminal employers of illegals who have paid too much good bribe money to buy off too many corrupt politicians?

It would also p*ss off all those illegal alien advocacy groups. Look how they are screaming now and the raids are only occuring now and then. Can't have that now, can we?

The trick has always been to make these dog and pony for show raids look real enougn to show the American sheeple that something is being done yet very carefully never enough is ever done to do any effective enforcement.

Yes because they still didn't get many and I have very good sources that say the border in Sonora is very easy and the coyotes are using it, heading up through Colorado and then swinging back down with their loads of illegals.

Where I live all they do is get a laser visa, even purchased off the streets and cross on over -- just as easy as it can be. The street vendors selling the laser visas which they very often buy from the owners who then report them lost and get a replacement in about a week, will help the buyers pick out just the right one, even suggesting the buyer change or color his/her hair a bit, wear a cap, shave or grow a moustache to look more like the picture.

The laser visas are returned to the vendors after the illegal makes it in, and this way they are recycled over and over, each visa getting in many illegals.

Now that makes blood shoot out of my eyes! No law enforcement agency is picking this up? Hmmm. This is what I call lack of effective enforcement of immigration laws apparently on purpose!

They know about the laser visas sales going on because every now and then they'll arrest someone who is doing it - but more for show to make it look like they're doing something.

They openly sell these laser visas over in Juarez but that's one reason our feds can't do a lot about it - the selling is done over there. We can't go to a mercado and arrest them.

I suppose when they occassionally check out someone, they might find they aren't the true owner of the laser visa -- but the whole purpose in the laser visas is to provide a swipe card that allows the border crossers to cross over quickly and without any checks, no questions, no vehicle checks. That makes the laser visa card the perfect way to come through.
