The flood of cases is creating backlogs that, at least in Phoenix, will take years for judges to decide whether immigrants facing deportation can legally stay in the U.S., according to an examination by The Arizona Republic.

Now for all you Deportation proponets, heres a Wake up call. Multiply this situation Nation wide. The cost of aprehension and detention while awaitng US Immigration law rules of a deportation Hearing to determin "Legality".

Now add up the cost of Housing(detention centers), Feeding, Securing(gaurds), medical treatment, and defence attorney costs

After the Legality determnation, then the Alien has to be returned to Home country...Millions and Miliions of dollars for hundreds and hundreds of Flights to home countries.

Reality Bites.
After kicking to the curb the 6 repub and 202 left wing progressive amnesty democrats in Congress blocking all efforts to stop illegal immigration and replacing them with conservatives pledged to stop illegal immigration, we would be able to pass tough on illegals laws/tough on the criminal employers of illegals laws on a national level and more importantly enforce such laws causing illegals to self deport en masse. Cost to taxpayers ZERO. Those illegal aliens that refuse to self deport themselves that would be left would be your gang bangers, your criminal illegals, drug dealers, maybe pregnant illegal women hoping to drop an anchor, etc. Those illegals would be rounded up and herded into tent cities, had quick deportation hearings and deported by BUS or cattle boat. No plane fare, except for non hispanic deportees, because we're trying to save taxpayer money here aren't we. The beauty of these massive deportations is that they're a ONE TIME EXPENSE. Most estimates say that we'd recoup our deportation costs in a year or two.

I don't know. Please, do tell!

I just spent the last hour searching for info on the illegal determination hearing and cannot find one link that really explains that the illegal goes to court to determine if he is here illegally. The hearing IS to determine whether he stays or goes.

I found this good reading:

It is well worth the $$$ to boot those criminal losers (illegal aliens) out of the USA as far as I am concerned. Note that the cut off of remittances by the above to Mexico, etc. would effectively cancel out the expense of deportations.

You are correct: reality bites.

What is the difference between the necessity to remain being a nation of laws by detaining, prosecuting and jailing Americans who commit crimes? Law enforcement is a necessary evil and expense along with the enforcement of our immigration laws.

We didn’t fly them here, and we don’t need to fly them home. Even if we did, it would be far less expensive than allowing them to remain, and to continue sucking this country dry.

Yes, reality does bite. It will bite illegals in the butt as they exit this country.
