Arizona is looking better each day.
Quote:
A House panel has approved a bill that would require schools to annually report how many illegal immigrants are enrolled and how much it costs to educate them.
Included in the report would be the number of illegal immigrant students, the number of teachers required to educate them, the cost of those teachers’ salaries and a “good-faith estimate” of the total cost to educate those students.
The bill, sponsored by Phoenix Republican Rep. Carl Seel, was approved by the House Government Committee by a 6-2 vote on Feb. 23.

They shoiuld also include a category of those with illegal Parents. That cost would dwarf the strictly illegal category. Bottom line is neither should be in our school system.

House passes bill that will require Arizona schools to document illegal immigrant students
House passes bill that will require Arizona schools to document illegal immigrant students
I believe this is fair.
Quote:
Knowing how and where tax payer money is spent in education is essential to creating a budget that best serves the students of Arizona. Obviously educating children of illegal immigrants is not cost neutral but is it overburdening the system? The information the implementation of this bill would provide will answer this question honestly and definitively; without emotion and rhetoric.

If they adopt something like this in California, I think Gil Cedillo's head would explode. Actually, I think there would be a series of explosions - it would be like lighting off 1000 strings of firecrackers!
