Illegal Aliens have successfully shot themselves in the foot. They have defeated the tool said mandatory for reform so there will be no amnesty any time soon until a process can be created that works.

How does one relate to the other, Why would one need Evrify to have a gerneral amnesty or even a form of amnesty?

another Dream of the Anti-movement hits the wall of reality..."This is a wake-up call to anyone who thinks E-verify is an effective remedy to stop the hiring of illegal immigrants," Schumer said.

No electric Fence or Electric card is a replacement for boots at the border...

Because they wouldn't want to give amnesty without a tool to stop further illegal immigration in the future, that's why.

Any path to Citizenship includes a tamper proof ID process. Many had hoped E-verify was that tamper proof ID verification tool and it appears that it is not.

No tamper proof ID and process to verify, no path to Citizenship aka amnesty of any level.

If anyone thinks there will be an amnesty without a process to prevent further illegal immigration they are indeed dreaming.

I've been saying this from the get-go. People on here were saying that e-verify is 99% effective. It is 99% accurate, not 99% effective. As long as the stolen ID contains a name, date of birth, gender and social security number that match up, the e-verify check will be bypassed.

Nope! That isn't how it works. I already posted in here how it is hard to fool the system so google it yourself this time.

Amnesty isn't going to limit future immigration legal or illegal. It's not meant to do that.

Illegals want an easy way to bring in their long lost extended families still living back home. Rather than pay a smuggler $5000, they want a free and easy process where they can just sponsor them. They have parents ready to retire, elderly grandparents in need of a nice social security disability check. They have children that could benefit nicely from food stamps and Medicaid and they want to bring them here.

EXACTLY! Clearly if e-verify were to be implemented you have to clean up the records FIRST! Of course, many have stated that was the wrong approach (having a solid base for implementing something is the wrong way to do things?)

For detecting legal workers, 93% of the time. Illegal workers 54% of the time.
