The system Congress and the Obama administration want employers to use to help curb illegal immigration is failing to catch more than half the number of unauthorized workers it checks, a research company has found.

From the article:

"While not perfect, it is important to note that E-Verify is much more effective" than the I-9 paper forms used by most employers, the summary said.

A tamper proof I.D. card with biometrics used along with e-verify would fix any of the problems associated with I.D. theft.

E verify misses all illegal workers, by law, it can only be used for new hires, existing hires are not allowed to be E verifyed.

Bye - bye amnesty. It looks like the illegal horde will have to "hide in the shadows" since they won't play by the rules. No tamper proof id and process = no amnesty.

You are correct that right now it can only be used for new hires but there are already many illegals working on existing jobs. That is why it needs to be mandated to be used both for those already working and for new hires to be completely effective.

That would make too much sense and the Pro-Illegal crowd would be howling at the moon over it.

I like to think that there is the anti illegal crowd, the pro illegal crowd (although I have never met anyone pro illegal) and the pro eating crowd. At this stage of the game, if you eat, or are in favor of eating, or drink wine or beer, or if you are in favor drinking wine or beer, you defacto support illegal labor.

I see no solutions on this board.

Oh, there are solutions here alright but I get the feeling you just don't like the anti-illegal's solutions.

Well, my hobby pays I and others well then. I also believe that there is no job an American won't do but can't live off of the cheap labor pay bigger companies want to pay, that's why they love illegal aliens. They've gotten used to having the extra pocket cash and now they have to learn to live without it. Period. THAT'S a solution. End the greed, pay well and scale down, just like I did.

Is that why the average and median salaries of illegal immigrant families is consistent with a lower middle income family? So the wages are dramatically decreased?
