As a Latina against illegal immigration, I am PROUD to post this here. I know quite a few Latinos who are against illegal immigration. Millions of Latinos don't have their head in the sand about illegal immigration. They fear for the future of this country culturally and economically just like any other white/black/Asian American does. They follow the rules and believe all should do the same. Thank goodness.

When asked to choose between enforcement that would cause illegal immigrants in the country to go home or offering them a pathway to citizenship with conditions, most members of minority groups choose enforcement. Hispanics: 52 percent support enforcement to encourage illegals to go home; 34 percent support conditional legalization.

Thanks for posting this,Several self serving Pro-Illegal alien groups try to depict minority groups as a united front for their cause when in fact law abiding Americans of all ethnicities generally oppose Illegal Immigration.Even recent Legal immigrants oppose line jumpers/border crossers also.
For many, the immigration issue is about the system, and not race.

Latino Uber Alles? Jesus Christ. Most normal people don't care about race, or feel like they have to make up and defend themselves for their race. You don't have to dance for anyone, Ms. Latina. You're American(before Latina) and that should be enough.
I would guess the vast majority of Latinos in America don't lose much sleep about any of those numbers. We just go about our lives. Not looking for that pat on the head.

The Actual Zogby poll gave an estimate of 38 million legal and illegal immigarants in the country. If you or Zogby can show a reliable source that has all immigrate population at 38 million. On this very poll, it has numbers of illegal immigrats at 12 million. That would mean there are 26 million legal immigrants in the country. As the poll states, 1.5 million immigrants here per year.

The US needs to bring all immigration legal or not to a screeching halt . We
have enough people now to overpopulate the country in to a starving third
world **** hole . We do not need to import any more people to do it . nor
can we continue to do so as we will not be able to feed or support the
people we now have if the economy does not recover and grow.
we are doomed to be a third world country very soon . there is no way we can
support more people . Our booming population that is made up mostly of
uneducated people that have a propensity to be criminals is counter
productive and is not producing people that will produce goods like farmers
and production workers and inventors . Gang bangers, murderers , robbers ,
rapers , crack heads etc do not help out the country .
close the borders before we are ruined far before our time . Take note of
Africa , Haiti, Asia , China etc . They have way too many people to support
and they suffer . China being the only prosperous one and that is only the
government due to communism and oppression .
Even if we only allowed smart productive people to come in we will soon be
out of room and out of a way to provide food and services to the " over

U.S. Birth Rate Hits All-Time Low

A declining population isn't a bad thing considering job shortages, natural resources, crowded schools, jails and hospitals.
You forgot to mention this little tidbit from the article. The birthrate only fell from 14.1 in 2001 to 13.9 in the year 2002. So it is leveling off. Besides our birthrates are still nearlly double our deathrates today. Yes, we are still over populated considering our carrying capacity in this country.
