I was standing in line at the Post Office yesterday, the lady at the desk said "we dont want you have to go out of country to retreive this do we?" Im not sure what it was that was being sent out but thats all I heard. This man just came in behind me and he said "why would anyone want to stay in this country?" We then got into a debate over illegals in this country. He blames business owners that hire illegals to do their work for small wages. He then said himself that when they are caught they get a slap on the wrist and then do it again.

So this gave me an idea. I want to know what everyone thinks is a solution to this problem we are having. Who should be held responsible?
First I have to say I love America but strongly dislike the government with a passion. 2nd yes employers should be held responsible for their actions but who is it that slaps them on the wrist and lets them go? Our government should enforce our laws. Jail time, big fines. Take away their jobs and they will send themselves home. Employers arent the only ones embracing these people. So they shouldnt be the only ones held responsible.

What are your opinions and insight on this?

There have been many cases where the employer wasn't just been slapped on the wrist. They received some very stiff fines. The problem is being able to prove that the employer "knowlingly" hired illegals. Many of these illegals present some very authentic looking documents to get hired. As we know most employers aren't using e-verify and it would help if it were made mandated across the board along with a tamper proof I.D. card presented. Then the employers would have no more excuses that they didn't know they hired an illegal alien.

not a big question, but who is going to issue the I.D. Card?

I believe it would be the same agencies we are told would guarantee that all illegals receive a thorough background check prior to being granted amnesty -- USCIS and DHS.
