Quote: "Recent job increases seem optimistic for U.S. economy. However, those jobs pay minimum wage or close to it and they are leaving millions of Americans on the brink of poverty now. We have 'never' seen such an increase in demand, and coast to coast the food pantries and emergency shelters are being OVERRUN!! Now the 'devious' thing is that there is an increase in Americans who are working. Mom and dad both work, yet they take home low wages so they cannot feed their children; they cannot afford the rise in rents, utilities, food, transportation, clothing, etc. It just cannot be done, and that is an American tragedy. Too much population (illegals) drives up the cost of living and lowers wages!" Just wait and see how things get worse and worse if illegals are not sent back to their own countries.
Another thing that makes wages go down is consumers who insist on low prices, always low prices. As soon as one supplier can outsource, thay all have to outsource to stay price-competitive. As soon as one has to turn to illegal labor, they all do. I guess a lot of people didn't think about any of that until the chickens came home to roost. Then instead of taking personal responsibility for the situation, they try to blame it all on the Chinese, Indians, and Mexicans. Very amusing on one level...
It doesn't do me any good to save a couple bucks at Wal-mart due to the sweat of the illegal aliens back if I have to pay higher property taxes to educate the illegal aliens children, or pay more for health care to make up for the losses hospitals suffer because of illegal aliens.

Nobody blames Chinese, Indians or Mexicans. We all have very clear that the problem is our companies who outsource jobs, and the government should put a little bit of pressure on the congress to keep this type of business under control. Now about the quality, that's a different issue. Of course something made in china, india or mexico is not even close to real american hand labor.
And companies using "illegal labor", we better do not talk about it because in the first place we shouldn't have criminals working freely in the job market.
We are losing our middle class to poverty, it's not the consumers fault that they must buy low priced products to survive. It's clearly the fault of our government and the empoyers who hire illegals, they created all the mess we are in today.

Is the US not a democracy? Who voted the government in? This is typical though the under dogs have to always blame someone let it be the wealthy, the government etc. Oh and those big bad corporations! People act like there is a bunch of money on the table, that consumers would pay more for american products if just people sold them!
The U.S. is losing it's democracy in ways. We vote for propositions and then they are overturned in court by interest groups. We are not told about the North American Trade Union as a people, not given a vote, but we see things happening around us to the detriment of American citizens and we all wonder why our government simply watched for over 25 years the illegals coming here by multi millions and did absolutely nothing to stop it. Why did we vote government in? Do politicians lie or not mention their plans? How can Americans pay more for American products when they are struggling so to pay their bills. How can Americans pay more for American products when many now bring home less pay working full time that it takes to rent housing? That's right they cannot even afford a place to live. It's not the American people who dictate product prices, it is the 'corporations'.

I don't wonder this at all, I wonder why people covered their eyes about the obvious problems around them. They still are doing the same thing, why are presidential candidates like Ron Paul (probably the only real conservative running) that are hard against immigrations not getting more support with "conversatives"? In a democracy you only have the people to blame.

Funny stuff. Yes the big bad corporations again! Seriously though consumers control demand to suggest they don't dictate prices makes little sense. Any company that is selling a product is interested in profit maximization, they will set the price to whatever maximizes their profit. BUT this isn't done independently of demand! What price gives the maximal profit is directly correlated to its demand.

Yes the doom the gloom! What you say is totally out of line with median incomes. The vast majority of people can afford to rent a place. The majority of people can also afford to spend a bit more on American products, but the fact is they do not. Americans want to buy a bunch of junk for cheap. For example when something broke my Grandpas would always fix it. Fabric on the couch going bad? Reupholster it. What do people do now? Couch is getting old? Replace it with some junk from Ikea! Dresser broke? Better get a new one! American consumers are at the heart of the problem.
Seriously, people need to take responsibility for their actions. The government is controlled by the people, corporations are controlled by the laws of supply and demand. In each case the consumer is really in the driver seat.
Seriously, you really believe that the govenment is controlled by the people and coporations are controlled by the laws of supply and demand.......WHAT PLANET ARE YOU LIVING ON??????????
