The Corrosive Effects of Illegal Immigration -- Doug Patton -- GOPUSA (http://www.gopusa.com/commentary/dpatton/2010/dp_03081.shtml - broken link)

Quote:
In my home state of Nebraska, Republican Gov. Dave Heineman currently enjoys sky-high approval ratings from constituents, thanks in large part to his stubborn resistance to tax increases, his principled opposition to Democrat Sen. Ben Nelson's "Cornhusker Kickback," and his veto of a bill that would have provided in-state college tuition for the children of illegals -- a stand that helped him beat back a 2006 primary challenge from former congressman and Nebraska football deity Tom Osborne. Now Heineman has taken another courageous position on behalf of taxpayers by threatening to veto a bill in the Legislature that would provide state-funded prenatal care for illegal immigrants.
Even legal immigrants are tired of this travesty.

Quote:
"The idea that society is responsible for people who are breaking the law is completely ridiculous and completely false," says Dimitri Krynsky, who emigrated legally from Czechoslovakia thirty years ago. "What the state should do is make sure these people do not find work here, do not find apartments here," he says. "Nebraska should create an environment that will send them home."

Unfortunately Mr. Krynsky has been here long enough to learn the Laws of the United States, to realize that We, as the Society, have set up the rules.

NO illegal alien has voted for Birthright Citizenship, Free Education, Emegency medical services, Emergency Federal welfare assistance, Open Bank accounts, buy and rent homes, Free pre-natal care...and a whole host of other things availble to the undocumented alien.

The one thing he(undocumented alien) does not have is the right to vote...yet we still blame him(UA).

What we are blaming your Illegal buddies for are using the immoral loopholes like the 14th. We are also blaming them for stealing our identities to rob us of the social wares we as a nation have created. We are blaming these people for skirting laws like the ones they broke crossing boundaries they know they aren't supposed to cross.

They are far from having clean hands in any of their transgressions. There are no victimless crimes.

Neither have most Americans voted for these things. They are in place in spite of our objections. Birthright citizenship is not being interpreted the way it was meant to be in spite of our objections. We the American public do no nor ever have approved of all of the above. So much for democracy.

Yes, the illegal is to blame in all of this because NO ONE gave them the approval to enter our country illegally and take advantage of all of the above. So the first sin was committed by them and them alone by illegal entry.

There you go...You did not vote for them. OK i get it now.

Illegal aliens are bad people, criminals, and they all should go home.

I feel 100% better.

Most Illegals are not "bad", though they have all commited some civil crime just by their status here.

But yes, they should all go home, go home and apply to come back legally.

No, some illegal aliens are bad criminals and some are not but that is beside the point. They should go home because they are in our country illegally, bottom line.

No, illegals aren’t responsible for our laws, but they are certainly responsible for breaking and/or exploiting them. Laws intended to assist a manageable number of illegal immigrants, have become huge magnets for the foreign underclass.

They eagerly avail themselves of every service and benefit, without a murmur of gratitude. They not only take advantage of the benefits provided them by law, but they also rely on fraud for all others. For most, we are simply, as a former regular member used to say, “Uncle Sucker.”

But then, what can be expected when a country devalues citizenship, and offers the “American Dream” to anyone who manages to breach our security. This can’t continue.

Well let me point out the value of considering this:threatening to veto a bill in the Legislature that would provide state-funded prenatal care for illegal immigrants.", because it seems to pass you all by. Many things "given" to illegal aliens protect us in the long run and when we are stupid enough to "cut off our noses to spite our face" its sad. If you give any woman, not just illegals, who are pregnant pre-natal care then you cut down on the possibilty of spending money on them later when they go into labor and have a problem. Just like the illegals and the Driver's License issue, some want to revoke and I believe have revoked Driver's licenses for them, Oh Yay, isn't it great to drive around a bunch of people who don't know our traffic laws? Makes me feel much safer-NOT! So when we go into these decision making processes we need to think what does society get out of helping illegals? Not just them, not just you or me but all of us. It makes fiscal and common sense to cover some things.

All the illegals I know are extremly filled with gratitude. You must not know any, must make it easy to demonize them.
