If employers were fined and put in jail the immigrants would leave on their own. You would have to back that up with no welfare & health care.

I answered put employers in jail because it would probably be the one thing that would have the greatest effect. But it really needs to be addressed in many ways. We need a fence, internal enforcement, asset seizure, and jail time for both employers and illegals.

Talking Ditto on employers

I say jail employers who hire them, without the ability to find work I don't think we would have the steady stream we do coming into the country. Slap employers with a minimum $10,000 per illegal employee and a one year prison sentence (with no option for plea agreements) and they might think differently about hiring illegals. If caught again make it a $50,000 fine per and minimum 5 years.

But employers in jail, seize and auction off their assets to pay to build a wall.

Realistically I would think that a stack of "deportation receipts" would be exhibited "A" in the trial of employers.

So far it is 10 people who want to crack down on employers, and 2 people who didn't read the question (so they don't count). I know that C-D forums are not scientific but any solution that can get both the right and left to agree sounds like a good way to go (especially since it is really just enforcing the law, and not writing a new one). Then again when you factor in campaign contributions, it makes sense why they've done nothing through both Republican and Democratic Presidents and Congresses.

I vote seize illegal aliens assets - just like we do with drug dealers.

I agree with penalizing employers, but, I don't like the idea of making them criminals. Hit them where it hurts the most - their wallet. They hire illegals to save a buck, let's just take it back.

I like a big fence too.

I'd vote all of the above, with the exception of the guest worker solution.

(See, I did read the question.)

Enforce the laws that already exist, new laws wont work because they exist already and are not enforced. My CHP friend told me if they enforced the law fully when a Illegal is pulled over it would take all day to process them, he said they could tie up every officer so they look the other way. he doesn't like them much either but has no choice

I read the questions, and I vote for ALL of them.
I think, all of those voting/ poll options are and absolut MUST, going hand in hand!
All of them should be addressed and focused on, because to single out and just focus on one, will definately not do nor bring any satisfying answers.
