Politicians: Americans won't support mass deportation! oh, and it's technically infeasible.
People: .................. right. Thanks for not asking us.

No, they came from Germany or Poland and had their names changed at Ellis Island to "Smith" or "Jones," yet they tolerated it in order to be here.

Yes, and Tom Tancredo failed to make that point, so he is suspect, regardless of what he believes. I believe he has said it before, but has been less than forthcoming.

Our countries don't tolerate it. The French have stopped doing so, with the removal of self-hating leftists represented by Chirac.

Oh bologna! Because it was hard to understand broken English or no English, maybe some letters were changed or names shortened. My husbands original name was spelled with two LLs or as i my mother's name an o was made an a at the end of the name. By the way the immigrants of yesterday didn't "pput up" with anything they dreamed of being an American and had loyality to America.

They wanted to be here so much that they tolerated nativist government policy that mangled people's names.

Well I think that depends on where you live. Probably you've never been affected at all by illegal and/or legal immigration.

Look. We ALL know that there are a lot of good legal immigrants from South America, who really love this nation, but there is a problem. Where are they? Why they're not speaking up? why they are not defending the laws from the country they dreamed to come? THEY HAVE TO SPEAK UP!!

With illegals, is different. I have ZERO TOLERANCE with them. I start from the base that they shouldn't exist here at all, for eny reason. I start from the base that the first illegal who was able to start here, was a big mistake from authorities; and not because they are now millions means that they earned a right to stay.

And as far as legal immigrants, you should stay for a couple of months in places like Miami...I'm sure after one month you'll be throwing up. And I'm not talking about Miami Beach, Coral Gables, and all that yankee lifestyle. I'm talking about the daily life of a regular mid class joe.

In contrast, illegals break a major Federal statute in order to steal services that citizens will never have; tax our citizens into poverty by having to support same; depress wages in entry level jobs that Americans are desperate for; are utterly reluctant to ever begin to learn the language of the entire U.S., English; insist upon cultural segregation or changing laws to emulate their former countries; and openly resent all Americans here.

In contrast to your statement, here in Los Angeles, I'm always surprised to see such hostility directed at Americans by illegals. Ever been spat at by a foreign national in your own country? I sure have...
That may be your experience, but I currently live in the SF Bay Area, previously in Philadelphia, Boston and North Carolina and I have never been subjected to any hostility at the hand of undocumented immigrants. I have, however, been called names and mistreated by many people who are Americans.

I currently live in the SFBay Area, previously in Boston, Philadelphia and in Chapel Hill, NC near Durham which has seen one of the largest influxes of undocumented immigrants in the US and I still don't understand the hostility directed at them.

The fact that you chose to see my response as hostility towards immigrants tells me that you don’t get it.

And thanks for the negative rep it must of made you feel real important.
I'm afraid I don't understand the hostility directed at undocumented immigrants.

Can you say revisionist double standard?
Can you say history repeats itself? That we have studied and learned from history, and don't want it to repeat itself? We invaded this country, and claimed it for our own. The natives lost their land, lost their culture, and lost their lives. Are you suggesting we should just sit here and allow that to happen to us? Us, as in U.S.

Did you know that in mother nature the strongest better adapted specimen is the one that survives? That one who successfully hunt and successfully prevent be hunted. We hunted our land. And since we have the knowledge and strength, will not survive from those trying to hunt us.

Any doubt, just ask The Taliban. They messed with the wrong specie. Just like cheap people south of the border is doing.
