PHOENIX (AP) - A sweeping immigration bill intended to ramp up law enforcement efforts in Arizona has been approved by state lawmakers.

Passage by the Senate on a 17-11 vote Monday sends the bill to Gov. Jan Brewer, who has not taken a position on the measure championed by her fellow Republicans.

In one word: yes.

Note that the economy is very bad plus the murder of rancher Krentz was the 'tipping point' in hostility towards illegal aliens IMHO.

I don't think CA will have any choice but to follow suite once the illegal horde heads to CA from AZ.

Even if the Bill is signed, it will have an uphill battle to be emplemented. Most of the provisions of the law will be challanged is District Court and will move up to the SC. Untill then the Law will be tied up in Court for Years.

I believe that the pro illegal side will be in for a very nasty surprise.

Remember that the USA goes through cycles (Like any other nation) of tolerance and intolerance...........we are heading towards the latter cycle where immigration in general and illegal immigration in particular is involved.
