Jesse Jackon appeared on MSNBC today and told Contessa Brewer that the new law, allowing police to require proof of citizenship from anyone they “suspect” of being an illegal immigrant, is the equivalent of ‘terrorism for the innocent…you look suspicious because you are Mexican.” Jackson also seemed to suggest that even Gov. Bill Richardson was at risk of being pulled over under this law because of his appearance. And further pointed out that it’s not the illegal immigrants who are to blame for our economy it’s Wall Street (alas, no ’****ty deal’ reference).
Unfortunately was Arizona doesn't realize is that many legal Hispanics have decided to join the exodus. They don't want to be racially profiled. It's a big loss for Arizona.

Funny...as I actually live in Arizona and the many legal Hispanics I know really don't care. They went through the proper channels for legalization.

Funny, because the many CITIZEN Hispanics I know in Arizona(Yuma, Phoenix, Chandler, Tuscon) do care, VERY much.

I guess that means all Hispanics aren't a single minded group, and have a variety of outlooks. Imagine that!

Here's more crazy news....there are many white people who are opposed to this bill.

And the people you know...how big of a sample is that of the total Arizona Latino population?

Try not to buy into the garbage that the media is feeding you. There are more people in favor of the bill than against it.

There's also a large part of Arizona that is convinced Obama isn't an American citizen. There's a reason people are half-jokingly referring to Arizona as the present day Alabama. Something in the water there.

Do you have any documentation that you would like to share to prove that point you are trying to make? Polls? Anything?

I also know plenty of Hispanics here in New Mexico that want the same law passed here.

This response from Jesse Jackson is not at all puzzling to me.

You would think he'd be jumping up and down, saying Yippy-I-Yo-Ky-ay!

More opportunities for the unemployed blacks from the East Coast, and elsewhere, to move to AZ and find some legal, gainful employment, after shooing the illegals back across the border or over the border into CA.

But perhaps he's thinking of the many brown-skinned among his race of people, who might get mistaken for being Hispanic.

Who knows!
