If I might use a left wing argument, if it stops just ONE violent crime from being committed by an illegal alien, then it's worth it! If it saves just ONE American citizen from the unemployment line, then it's worth it. If it stops just ONE American citizen from falling victim to the scourge of drugs, then it's worth it. If it keeps just ONE potential gang member below the southern border, then it's worth it. If the benefits outweigh the detrimental effects, then , well, it's worth it.

Reading comprehension FAIL.

It CLEARLY states that racial profiling CANNOT be used to implement the law. If it is apprent that racial profiling was used, the magistrate will throw out the case in a heartbeat.

Bullshyt!

More than two dozen states currently have "stop and identify" laws based solely on reasonable suspicion and not probable cause. Arizona is one of them. Read up on Terry v. Ohio while you are at it!

Not quite true. If you are a White Mexican; the policia will tend to handle you with kid gloves vs. especially an Indian one.

Whether one desires a small or large government has nothing to do with the necessity for a secure country with laws and the right to enforce them.

Any time the cops pull over a person the FIRST thing they do is ask for identification regardless of the color of the driver. If they have reason to question you on the street they ask for ID. This isn't a new thing. I know, I know...we aren't supposed to make our illegals feel uncomfortable here. We are supposed to welcome them despite the crime and poverty they bring. We are supposed to feed them and educate their children and provide them with medical care and housing despite the fact that they are CRIMINALS. We aren't supposed to suggest that they LEAVE or try to figure out who is here illegally at all. Suggesting that they show ID when questioned by the police, the same way that LEGAL citizens and residents do is just WAY over the line. How dare we??
