Arizona Grades Teachers on Fluency - WSJ.com

The Arizona Department of Education recently began telling school districts that teachers whose spoken English it deems to be heavily accented or ungrammatical must be removed from classes for students still learning English.

Margaret Dugan, keep up with your teabagging ways.

jesus christ! that state is going to crumble.

No teacher should be employed to teach if they still need to go to school themselves. It's no surprise the left wingers support dumbing down the kids with uunqualified teachers..

What a novel idea hire a teacher who speaks proper English to teach English. HHMMMMMMM. My Father spoke nothing but Spanish before he went to kindergarten in 1950. None of his teachers spoke a word of Spanish. OMG how did he ever make it. Let's see fluent in both English and Spanish, no accent when speaking English, college degree, successful vice president of marketing and son of LEGAL Mexican immigrants. Wow how did he ever make it. NO FREAKING EXCUSES that's how.

It's called not lowering standards but raising expectations.

If they're illegal, I'm for it. If they're legal, I think thats extremely wrong. If a teacher's a good teacher, why cut them because of their accent or whatnot?

It said, "teachers whose spoken English it deems to be heavily accented or ungrammatical must be removed from classes". These classes are for students still learning English. That way the students could learn English properly.

Wrong, Arizona is going tp prosper. Just as they get everything else backwards, the Left has gotten the Arizona recent developments backward. It is the states that refuse to confront their problems that are going to crumble. Arizona has stepped up and said enough.
