It does not appear to me that this march was any bigger than any other march.
Don't forget that the illegals and the leftists march every May 1 because it's the Communist Labor Day where socialist workers throughout the world march.
For this reason May 1 is a holiday in Mexico. They are simply keeping one of their own holiday traditions. Back home in Mexico there were also many marches - and they weren't marching over Arizona laws at all.
There was a rally in Hightstown, NJ. The yelling was in spanish, so I couldn't tell you what anyone was yelling about. However, my neighbor said he heard them yelling "All humans are legal!" Isn't it hard to get support when you speak in a language that no one (very few) understands?? I don't think this rally even made the news.
There wasn't a law signed making ILLEGAL immigration legal, so why would people need to march against it? Please don't confuse immigration with illegal immigration.
The system says I'm out of rep points for today so here is a written one!
The "confusion" you mention is the traitors' who-support-the-invasion-of-our-Nation favorite tactic!
.
Or, if pro illegal open border criminals march to protest a law designed to reduce their own unwanted uninvited illegal border jumper numbers in this country and even the liberally biased media didn't even care, was it a waste of uninvited unwanted illegal border jumper time?
YES! Excellent point! And interestingly well written.
PS... the system says I'm out of rep points for today.

Where the hell is Hightstown, NJ?
There were over 70 known marches. LA, NY, Chicago, DC, San Francisco, and of course Phoenix are the ones that made the news.
You can find all kinds of similar May 1 marches going on. So trying to claim the one in Los Angeles was only about some law they don't like in Arizona is preposterous. These people celebrate this day because they neither know or care when Americans celebrate Labor Day.
The LA march as definately about protesting 1070. It was advertised as that. How do we know that there were well over 80 marches specifically marching against 1070? Because these marches had to report their march time and location to one of the main organizations. The "labor day" marches were not included in the 80+. I'll leave it at that.

It's a tradition in Mexico and Central America to march on May 1 and also to make the march about some non-labor cause. In Guadalajara, they wore white and it was a march over students rights. Usually red is worn.
Every year there is a march - whether it's workers rights, pay -- and so it's convenient to throw another label onto the group who would have naturally gone out to march about something for May 1.
In another thread that was moved to this forum, they were talking about anarchists rioting. Now because the illegals have made May 1 "their day", don't be surprised when the anarchists activities are linked to the illegals'.
Some moderator apparently did just that - assumed that any talk of anarchists rioting belonged in this forum because it's about illegals rioting.

Again, it'd be a lot easier to speak on this if you actually participated in the march. There were many signs directly referencing SB 1070 in LA.
Also in LA, all the speakers, as well as the band performing spoke on SB 1070. It was very much a theme of the rallies.
With the passage of SB 1070, word about has spread, and it has become a very, very big topic. Lots of Mexican-Americans who otherwise don't care about the immigration debate became angry about the bill. So did a lot of people who don't immediately fall in line with these kind of pandering bills.
But yeah, it's not that easy to talk about something you don't really know about. As usual, you make a lot of arrogant assumptions.

And just why would any Mexican-Americans become angry about this bill unless they were ethnocentric racists themself. Please don't come back with the racial profiling BS as that has already been laid to rest by the actual law itself.
