Now Hillary Clinton...

Quote:
"This law is written so broadly that if you were visiting in Arizona and you had an accent-and you were a citizen from, you know, my state of New York-you could be subjected to the kind of inquiry ... that this law permits," Politico and The New York Post quoted Clinton as saying.
Arizona immigration law could lead to racial profiling: Clinton

Lead to racial profiling? It IS racial profiling.
Trust me, this is going to cause a lot of trouble within our nation.

No, it isn't racial profiling. What is in that law has already been explained over and over. That law prohibits racial profiling.

Will it lead to "some" racial profiling? Perhaps but isn't that true of any law that LE tries to enforce? There are cops out there that don't follow policy in any situation but they don't represent the majority of LE. So what do we do then? Don't make any laws and dismantle all LE agencies because "some" cops are bad?

The word "could" is rather vague. This sounds like typical Hilary trying to play up a cause for her own purposes but at the same time stay on both sides of the fence.

So.....What. The courts have consistantly upheld that some racial profiling is perfectly acceptable. It's just that racial profiling can't be the sole criteria for an apprehension. There must be other probable causes for suspicion of wrong doing. If the description of a bank robber is a white red headed male, then LE will racially profile and look for probable cause from white red headed suspects. Since it just so happens that 50% of illegal aliens in America are mexicans, then if we're going to rid America of the illegal mexican invasion LE has to look for.....well, mexican suspects. All must be done in a legal manner though. No matter how the radical left amnesty democrats scream and holler racism, does anyone doubt that their real motive is votes to keep themselves in power to carry out their radical agenda of transforming America into something nobody but a marxist would want.

If it were truly "thoroughly explained", people would not have any doubts.

A LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER, WITHOUT A WARRANT, MAY ARREST A PERSON
38 IF THE OFFICER HAS PROBABLE CAUSE TO BELIEVE THAT THE PERSON HAS COMMITTED
39 ANY PUBLIC OFFENSE THAT MAKES THE PERSON REMOVABLE FROM THE UNITED STATES.
It is this paragraph we are concerned about. Basically says an officer without a warrant, can arrest you if he believes you are an illegal immigrant based on probable cause. What would this probable cause entail? This is what people get at when they say "What does an illegal look like". Being in the country illegally? Yeah, that's a public offense.

Every law "could" lead to racial profiling.

Laws that allow police to search cars upon probable cause can also lead to racial profiling. When the FBI investigates certain crimes, they use a PROFILE of the potential perpetrator based on factors such as race, religion, economic status.

Welcome to multicultural and multiracial America folks. Some groups are shown to have propensity for certain crimes in greater numbers vs. others. With Hispanics, it's illegal immigration. I the 1930s, I'd shake down an Italian before a black man when trying to combat the mafia. It's called "the real world." Deal with it.

Hillary is a former lawyer, she chose her words very carefully. When she was running for president, she acknowledged the effects of illegal immigration on working class Americans. A lot of people who have ethnic affinity with the largest group of illegals (Hispanics) didn't like it when she said it, but she spoke the truth.

Right! Like it's working fine right now.

YouTube - 4409 -- Arrested over Arizona's Real I.D. Paper's Please SB1070 bill

wehotex, the only good thing about this ordeal is that it's getting the attention it needs. Arizona has been left out there by itself, no help. Maybe the federal government will provide with more assistance at the border. If Arizona really wanted to cut out the smuggling, drugs or human trafficking, why don't they put their efforts at the border. So far, I hear a lot of complains about those against 1070 but few speak about getting the gov of Arizona to redirect efforts at the border.
