Ariz.'s largest paper: Pols failed on immigration - Yahoo! News (http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20100502/ap_on_re_us/us_immigration_enforcement_5 - broken link)

"The federal government is abdicating its duty on the border. Arizona politicians are pandering to public fear," The Arizona Republic said in a full-page editorial. "The result is a state law that intimidates Latinos while doing nothing to curb illegal immigration."
The Republic isn't exactly a left leaning newspaper. Yay for common sense without pandering to Arizona's misled.

Intimidates Latinos? How so? If it intimidates illegal Latinos who cares? It does nothing to curb illegal immigration? How is that possible when it will mean the arrest of many of them?

Commonly known as the Arizona Republic(an) it is certainly not left leaning. Makes you wonder what those two senators have been doing in Washington for DECADES

It's great that there are still people who aren't completely tied to their political affiliation to speak out when things are going too far.

I wish more "anti-illegals" had this quality.

The only reason you think this law goes to far is because Arizona will make a big dent in ridding their state of illegal aliens and you have an entirely different agenda.

Or maybe I dont Arizona to be a police state for brown people with accents just to get rid of maids and car wash employees.

There are lots of solutions, but there are also boundaries.
We could go around shooting all Mexican looking people, and we'd surely make a massive dent in illegals, even a few violent criminals along the way. But that doesn't make it right or fair.

You're just willing to give up the rights of others for YOUR agenda.

But you don't have to just argue with me...you can also argue all the legal experts and the Arizona Republic who share my views.

Exactly. For some people nothing short of open borders from Argentina to Alaska will suffice.

Legal experts and lawyers have also made it possible for burglars to sue homeowners if they hurt themselves on the homeowner's property while in the act of burglary. Just because you find some who share your viewpoint doesn't mean they're moral or ethical.

"The newspaper called for reform that allows for current undocumented immigrants to earn citizenship, secures the borders and puts tough sanctions in place for employers who hire undocumented immigrants"
This newspaper has an agenda, maybe its owned by or employs a ton of illegals.
