Should the "New America" be primarily people from Latin America, Africa or Asia?
American racial makeup is going to change in the next 100 years and the decision of today's Congress will effect our Country for the next 1000 years. Much of our Country in 100 years will be the offspring of immigrants who will be coming into America due to the soon to be passed Immigration Bill. (Yes, something will be passed and it will flood the country with IMMIGRANTS)
Should Congress allow more people to immigrate to America from Asia, Africa or Latin America? Currently 2/3 of the world's population is from Asia, so should they get 2/3 of the slots? Or should we allow more people from Latin America because it is more practical because they are speaking a language that people already know in many cases?
What would be the pros and cons of each?

I think they should have a 5 year moratorium on all immigration until we fix the mess we have now.

I think so too.
My order of preference would be
Asian - in general it seems Asians are drawn more to math and science - something we are short of here.
African - many of the African immigrants I have seen are involved in the medical field, we are short here.
Latin America - we are overpopulated with Latin American citizens, I think we should let some other nationalities catch up before we let more in.

I agree, and have said before this, that ALL immigration should be stopped. We have over 300 million, enough is enough....I think our collective guilt has generously proved that we will take in the poor and downtrodden over the centuries.

Stopping Immigration sounds like a good idea, but it is not going to happen. My question still stands: Should Hispanics still dominate the immigration into America. How about Asians, Africans? Who should the new America be?

America
America should be made up of people whose first priority is the good of this country, whether they were born here or came thru from LEGAL immigration without prejudice to color, religion or anything else. Those who came here illegally should be disqualified as they showed they don't respect this country, her people or her laws. I don't favor any one group or race in this effort and only would wish for their major priority be to "be an American" which means assimilating into this culture and not trying to change it, obeying our laws and be willing to fight for them and not asking for handouts or tearing down our customs. They should come to escape their old way of life and not to change ours or our country in any way.

Why not? It has been done before. In 1924 laws were enacted which severely limited immigration for the next 40 years. This bought valuable time for the newcomers to assimilate to America.
As for your question, our immigration policy should be based on what is good for the United States. We cannot continue to serve as a pressure release for dysfuntional regimes in Latin America. We currently have a population of 300 million as opposed to the 76 million in 1900, we do not need more people and cannot afford to keep adding millions to our population.

"You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to mollies mom again."
I think that's the point. It doesn't care race, religion, color, what is important is that brain inside that body. You can have the most beautiful blonde hair blue eyes 6'3" 185 pounds specimen willing to come here, but maybe he has the most evil mind in the world. On the other side, we can have a very ugly 5 foot tall dude, dark skin, dark hair, indian face but maybe his dream from many years ago was to be an American because he was raised under different values; he is willing to close the door with his old country and be part of this unconditionally. That is the people we need. We need "friends", not these enemies we have today who are trying to re-shape the face of America for their own convenience. And to achieve that, we need to reform the immigration system from scratch.

Need to stop it long time ago, but I'd say Asia (less trouble internally), but I won't because seems may make it easier for China to come marching here to take us over.
