Are there any 6'5" or taller Mexican basketball players in the league?

I don't know of any Mexicans who play basketball in the NBA can you name one?

And shouldn't it be Los Sols?

True that. Although 'Los Sols' sounds too close to 'Lost Souls'---------which the Sun's management certainly sound like.

Sure. Eduardo Najera is a 6' 8" or 6' 9" forward for the Dallas Mavericks from Mexico. University of Oklahoma product I believe.

Apparently he's one of two in the NBA.

Too much of a minority to be wearing Los on their jerseys to show "solidarity" for Cinco de Mayo or "illegals".

Do illegals watch anything but Chivas?

It's totally stupid. Pandering.

Probably trying to boost viewership for their games.

The correct Spanish would be Los Soles. Same principle as tamal/tamales.

It's not the fact that they are wearing the jerseys, it's the politically reasoning they have put behind wearing them this year.

Well, sure, that's exactly the point. It's not about showing support to the 2 Mexican nationals in the NBA, or condoning illegal immigrants, despite what the Steve Nash may say, it's about appealing to a market segment and bringing in more and new viewers. All American sports leagues are pushing hard to appeal to international audiences as much as possible.

There's a good chance they'd be doing this any other year since it is Cinco de Mayo and all, but the timing this year with the recent uproar makes it weird.

$$$ definitely is the determining factor here.
