To the knee-jerk liberal reactionaries who always cry racism, you're losing the battle. And if the USA doesn't get tough on illegal immigration then this country will lose the war. Arizona's tougher laws have nothing to do with race, and everything to do with the violent Mexican drug cartels who've gotten bolder and more dangerous over the past ten years.

"The raging drug war among cartels in Mexico and their push to expand operations in the United States has led to a wave of kidnappings, shootings and home invasions in Arizona, state and federal officials said at a legislative hearing. The drug trade has long brought violence to the state, a hub from which illicit drugs and illegal immigrants are smuggled to the rest of the nation."

"In what officials caution is now a dangerous and even deadly crime wave, Phoenix, Arizona has become the kidnapping capital of America, with more incidents than any other city in the world outside of Mexico City and over 370 cases last year alone. But local authorities say Washington, DC is too obsessed with al Qaeda terrorists to care about what is happening in their own backyard right now."

"A memorial service for Robert Krentz, an Arizona rancher who was killed along with his dog - presumably by a drug smuggler from Mexico - drew about 1,000 people over the weekend. Neighbors worried that a tragedy like this would happen, and they fear for their own safety."

You will notice that nothing is mentioned that the kidnappings, shootings and home invasions are perpretrated on EACH OTHER not on the ordinary citizens of the state. There have been a few cases of mistaken identity on their part but for the most part it is Mexican on Mexican crimes.

Again, it isn't mentioned that these crimes are perpretrated Mexican on Mexican. Americans HAVE been caught in the crossfire sometimes and, yes, it does need to be stopped but it's not like they are kidnapping Americans.

If there was no market for the drugs here they wouldn't have a reason to bring them in. Kinda like six of one, half a dozen of the other. People are getting prescription drugs from many sources right here in the USA. It is a terrible plight in Eastern KY.

It has never been proven WHO killed Mr. Krentz and his dog. It has been 'surmised' that it was an illegal alien but since there are no witnesses...and I hadn't heard that it was a supposed drug dealer. But it was proven to be cold blooded murder because the poor man never had a chance to defend himself. His cell phone and pistol were never taken out and his rifle was still on the 4 wheeler. And yes, people are in fear for their own safety. I don't blame them.

Funny how we will go across the whole world to get one American from detainment yet refuse to deal with a resolvable issue which threatens Americans on a much larger scale daily. Secure our borders, not monitor, we already know people are crossing in obscene numbers. Secure it.

Yep. Speaking the truth is unpopular because it takes away the Leftists' racism crutch.
