Some are payed under the table, but most employers are smart enough to know that INS agents will know how many income tax and SSI accounts they pay into, and be able to compare that with the number of people found working on site. So, the employers pay into income tax, SSI, Medicare and any state tax obligations for those employees, knowing, probably, that the SSI numbers are false, stolen, or inactive (belong to tax payers who have died) Those monies are credited to the trust funds involved by the agencies that receive them. Illegal aliens will usually zero their exemptions, knowing that having none zero exemption status invites scrutiny. They can not file for income tax rebates, their tax and SSI and Medicare payments go unclaimed, and, frequently, unascribed to a valid account, similarly for state payroll taxes, and, of course they can't file for any tax credits or credits for state taxes, sales taxes, medical payments exceeding 10% of income, etc., etc. These payments are credited to the trust funds without attribution, and so, after just 3 years, become uncommitted funds. It is not clear whether these monies all go back into general revenue in, or just tax with SSI and Medicare funds used within their respective trust accounts. (Pure paperwork, there are no dedicated funds on deposit.) So, the contention that they contribute nothing to general revenue, SSI, and Medicare is just plain wrong. The IRS has admitted, before Congress, that immigrants, both legal and illegal tend to overpay their tax obligations.
The surplus the feds enjoy via illegals' deductions is a fraction of the expense associated with their presence. Truly, it is a pittance in comparison.

Wow, a lovely picture you "paint". If this is the case Illegals are much more valuable than tax paying, legal Citizens. But one thing confuses me, I keep hearing there are no jobs. Something is wrong with this "picture".

Awesome first post though.

I've seen ridiculous proposals that these criminals are supposed to be owed "back taxes" on the stolen accounts they used, doing the job they stole while here illegally. Talk about an absurd fairly tale.

"The $90 million California is expected to receive from the federal government this year for jailing illegal immigrants convicted of crimes is far short of the state's roughly $1 billion annual cost, officials said." - Los Angeles Times, Feb. 5,2010. Just wanted to add that in DontH8tMe. It is also VERY important to know (while looking up cost/benefit studies) that 2 different types of studies exist, and have very different results. The first type of study looks only at the illegal immigrants, and not their children born in America. From an economic standpoint this is very flawed, when you exclude the U.S. born children of illegal immigrants you can no longer factor in the social services the family unit receives and benefits from as a whole. The second type of study does factor in the U.S. born children, and the family units cost to society as a whole. In my opinion the family unit is the only valid study, but pro- illegal immigration people will always pull the "studies show they contribute more" card hoping you are ignorant on how the study was done. Center for Immigrant Studies has a website, check it out.

Apparently people just don't KNOW, or don't CARE. American Idol is more important.

None of the pols want to do anything about it. Why? Because being labelled racist is a sure bet for any that do. Look what's happening as a result of the AZ law.

People like that should be charged with seditious conspiracy. They are knowingly aiding in the destruction of their country.

Ive always said that this country will be brought down by the idiots and the naive liberals within.

I agree. Those ethnocentric racists and bleeding heart liberals make me sicker than the illegals themselves.
