would you believe me if I tell you that with each increase in the illegal immigrant counter I feel bad inside? I can't really explain what I feel. It is a mix of anxiety, hate, pain, it makes me think by instinct that I should go to the border and do something.

WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON WITH WASHINGTON!!!!!!

WHERE THE HELL IS THE CONSTITUTION ON THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA!!!

No, Citizen, sit down, and shut up, unless you blame Paris Hilton for a national decline in 'family values.' Then, it's okay to talk.

I'd like to see a definition of what that site considers "skilled jobs". In my personal experience, I have seen immigrants (whether they are legal or not, I do not know), working at gas stations, in fields, ect. NOT "skilled" work. It is completley uncalled for you to imply that there is something wrong in Washington D.C. because there are illegal immigrants in the United States. One, this is not the only issue occuring - I'd like to see you try to deal with all of them at once (not saying that I empathize with Bush, but there is more in Washington D.C.). Secondly, I'd ALSO like to see you try to live in the poverty that these illegal immigrants are trying to fight out of.
There is no reason to hate, either. many immigrant's choices are taken away, and they are left with coming into the United States illegal - trying to start over and provide for their families and giving their children a possible second start.

What do you call carpentry, roofing, and the like? Those are skilled labor jobs that in the past were filled by citizens and legal residents of these great United States. They are now being filled with illegal aliens because of cheap labor and greed. In my opinion, these illegal immigrants are willing participants in exploitation. The people who hire them are far worse than the illegal immigrants themselves.

As for there being "nothing wrong in Washington DC." Even most people who sympathize with the illegal immigration movement admit that there is A LOT wrong in our nation's capital.

I would call the building trades skilled work. Anyone can work a cash register or flip burgers, but roofing, tiling, etc. is VERY skilled work...or it SHOULD be. It's no coincidence that a lot of new builds in the DFW area are built by illegals...and many are very shoddily-constructed.

I never said there is nothing wrong in D.C., I was just saying that it shouldn't be claimed that something is wrong because there is illegal immigration. To be so concerned that there is an issue in Washington D.C. because of it, is ridiculous. Because there are other issues that need to be addressed, it is not solely immigration. Violence, rape, murder, poverty, sweatshops...these are more important than illegal immigration.
Immigrants are working at jobs that people previously didn't want to do. Obviously, immigrants didn't come up here unprecedent - if Americans didn't want to hire them, keeping up with the pretense that immigrants are "stealing" U.S. jobs, they wouldn't have. There are jobs available to them, why wouldn't they take them?
I agree that it is greedy for the employees hiring the immigrants at lower wages. They should be paid the same.
The immigrants come here because even if they are exploited here, it is far worse at home for them.

Explain illegals from Canada and western Europe, then.

that site's counters are estimates, i hope you all realize. most experts have settled on a number well below 20 million in terms of illegal population. the site also has no means of accurately determining jobs taken, cost of schooling due to the children, or money wired.

Sorry I called you a moron, I just think hate is terrible.
Personally, I was less interested in the numbers, and more the ideals that they are representing.
Sorry, I can't explain illegals from Canada and Western Europe, but though there may be illegal immigrants from there, too, there is no question that the larger number come from countries that are generally more needy.
