exactly! they think that having a child in the US automaticall gives someone citizenship. it does not. the parents can still be deported. of course there have been cases where the child has health issues and out of compassion the parent is allowed to stay due to the strain it will cause to seperate mother and child. but i doubt a woman has a child in the US hoping he'll be sick enough to require medical attention only found in the US. those cases are rare.

"anchor babies" are all part of the propoganda vomitted by the anti's. plenty of these conversations/debates are filled with misinformation and generalizations.

Oh, come on. This subject has been discussed over and over in here with links and explanations provided by many of us already. How many more times does it have to be discussed? Even one of the writers of the birthright citizenship was clear that it wasn't to be extended to children of illegal aliens.

Lol... EVERY SINGLE TIME "Immigration Reform" comes around, the first thing we hear is how families are going to be broken up. This is from the Pro Illegal immigration side, remember IRCA in the 80's?? the whole point was to give Amnesty to keep the families together, rewarding illegal behavior with the promise that it would not happen again. US born children with Illegal parents is the FOCAL POINT of the entire issue, because deporting Illegal Immigrants that leave their American born children here is "heartless" and "evil". Call a spade a spade, you are fooling no one.

It does entitle them to a full boat of benefits for the anchor babies though. How much does that cost the taxpayers?

Not much.

Just food stamps.... oh, and WIC.... oh, in my state, free pre-kindergarten, followed by free public school.... um, what else... medicaid, section 8 housing, if necessary...

But hey, they income taxes right? The paltry amount a day laborer is (possibly) paying in should more than make it up, right? Assuming they don't get the child tax credit?
