A month ago, Efrain Gaytan's Mexican diner was bustling with migrant workers wolfing down a breakfast of eggs and burritos before they headed out to work as landscapers and day laborers across west Phoenix.

But around 8 a.m. all but three tables are empty as customers rattled by Arizona's tough new law cracking down on illegal immigrants stay away -- even though the law does not go into effect until July.

"Before, there would have been a lot of people eating breakfast but now everyone is worried that they're going to get pulled over," Gaytan, 42, said one recent weekday morning.

Please note that this is not a result of the law itself, but by the fear mongering lies of the liberals and legal/illegal immigrants who have been protesting.

Some migrants targeted by the law already have begun heading back to their home country or moving to other states, selling off their belongings at numerous weekend yard sales in Latino communities across metro Phoenix.

How can they be targeted by the law when the law has not went into effect yet?

Hispanics make up 30 percent of the desert state's population of 6.6 million and their annual buying power is estimated at $31 billion, according to a recent study by the Arizona Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.

So how much does it cost for the illegals? Will people from CA move to AZ?

If they are taking in less money for a time, hopefully the state will have the sense to cut spending to keep their books balanced.

The law is good and things seem to be dying down - hopefully there will be no idiots in the police force who go beyond the law and ignite the fire all over again.
If Efrain Gaytan's Mexican diner appealed only to illegals, that's his problem. He can relocate his business to where the illegals are going - California. California really could use the business and all it's new illegals need some place to eat.

CA is so unfriendly to business that I doubt even he would want to go there and deal with them.

It seems that most of the businesses in the rapidly emptying out barrios here in the Phx area that are going away are places like Mexican eateries, etc. Needless to say: if one is dependent upon an illegal alien clientele..............oh well. Welcome to Darwinism.
