IMO, Mexican is a culture.

How does a new race just "happen"???
Mexican isn't a "race", it's a person from Mexico. Same as an American is from America, Canadian from Canada, etc..

A black person born in Mexico would be considered Mexican because of his country of origin.

There is a Mexican culture (many actually) but "Mexican" isn't a "culture" it's a nationality.

No new race. My Mexican-American cousins would be shocked to hear if there was.

It's a nationality. To me, the race of a Mexican could be: Native American, White (of European-Spanish descent), Mixed (Native American/White, also known as Mestizo), or Mixed (Native American, African and White) or Mixed (Native America, African) or Mixed (White, African). Or any other combination of a person born in Mexico. Basically, Mexico is the country and "Mexican" is the term used to describe a national of that country.

Yep. That's what makes me laugh when I see people like Al Sharpton trying to protect the illegal immigrant population from Mexico. I'm like, Al, brother ... do you really know what they think of us while you are on the front lines for these people fresh from Mexico?

My guess - because many try to insist that expecting citizens of Mexico to respect the immigration and other laws of the USA is racism against Mexicans.
