This happened over a month ago, about a week after the law was signed, and there hasn't been anything since. He says he showed his social security card (and CDL) but his wife said she had his SS card at home. So how could he show it to them? She brought it, and his birth cert. from home. I'll agree that it wasn't fair of ICE to do that but I think there might have been more to the story. ICE doesn't make it a habit to profile people. In fact, you're lucky if ICE bothers to pick up people who actually ARE illegal, unless they are a proven criminal.

The law hasn't even gone into effect yet. Not till the end of July. But this happened about a week after the law was signed. And I'm not convinced there wasn't more to it.

this will happen more and more. pretty tough when a US citizen is handcuffed and detained until the "authorities" see his BC. I guess pulling your truck into a weigh station is now an illegal activity and reason enough to hassle US citizens.

So what! I was forced to show my birth certificate to get a drivers license. The race baiters need to shut the heck up!

The pro-illegals are jumping to conclusions as usual without having all the facts. I remember the incident somewhat and U.S. Customs was involved. Indeed there was more to this story and it wasn't cut and dried like the pro-illegals try to claim.

Oh cry me a river. The law doesn't go into effect until July.

Can anybody say "I want my 15 minutes of fame"?

By the way, did anybody get a load of that accent? Sorry, but that just doesn't scream "Born in the USA."
