I dont see a whole heck of alot of them here...perhaps because we've had a noted tendency to kick them out.

You better go by any place that is building a school in SC and you will quickly realize there is a alot of illegals stealing your construction jobs. Last year I worked on the Jonesville school off 176 (might be 175) highway in Union County, and frankly it made me sick to know so many fellow citizens were looking for work, yet the sub contractors were always bringing in the illegals. You tell those to do something and they played the "can't speak english" nonsense. Funny thing tho, when you reach out and "touch" them forcefully, they learn english right then. If they are in our country and won't speak english, throw 'em out. Legally here or not! The really sad thing is all the calls to INS and not once did they come and do their job. Maybe we should deport the lazy bueracrats with the illegals they won't round up

There are a very small population here in Ft. Knox and Louisville, Kentucky. Western KY, Shelbyville, and Lexington from what I hear have more problems with them. Gov. Beshear is very indifferent towards them.

Virginia has a major problem with them. In particular, Northern VA is very overrun with them. The new governor McDonnell is pretty much ignoring the issue even though he supports tougher laws against them.

North Carolina was a sanctuary state for them. They have toughened up on them but it may be too little too late.

Tennessee has a problem. It is getting somewhat better now that some of the opportunities are shrinking. I live in a small rural town of historically 2500 with a few larger towns 20 miles away. But, we have a chicken processing plant, so it was to the point, we had to build a new school to accommodate the influx (property tax increase), hire a Spanish speaking police officer, teachers had to take Spanish classes to communicate with their students, there was no available housing (rentals), they had to expand and make room for a hispanic only health department, the hospital was having financial trouble, crime/traffic accidents increased (my brother is a cop), we began seeing gang graffiti, jail over crowding, court docket back up, you couldnt get into the post office on Fridays. There have been two law suits against the chicken plant. The first one for discrimination. The plant was only hiring hispanic, some working underage and some multiple shifts. The second I believe is still pending, charging the administration of illegal hiring practices (knowingly hiring and facilitating illegals). Another local factory was laying off locals and hiring hispanics but no law suit was filed.
But walmart seems to be thriving.

These are VERY conservative estimates. Fla. has just released an estimate of 850,000. AZ est. half a million. Knowing you are only posting what is written, they are conservative at best.

The source on the link is: US Citizenship and Immigration Services, field report, 2000.
The numbers may be under-reported but give a basis for comparison between states. I suspect the 10 top order hasn't changed much.
