It's one of the safest parts of America, and it's getting safer. It's the U.S.-Mexico border, and even as politicians say more federal troops are needed to fight rising violence, government data obtained by The Associated Press show it actually isn't so dangerous after all.
The top four big cities in America with the lowest rates of violent crime are all in border states: San Diego, Phoenix, El Paso and Austin, according to a new FBI report. And an in-house Customs and Border Protection report shows that Border Patrol agents face far less danger than street cops in most U.S. cities.

Let me guess - another article written by a Latino? And one who writes from outside the US - real credible there.

Pathetic. Spin, spin, spin, the spin going on to defend illegals and their "right" to stay in the US is dizzying.

How shocking, they are the most ethnocentric bunch around. Any group that puts ethnic, religious, or racial background before the nation as a whole does not deserve to be an American. I might be White, I might be a male, I might be of Irish descent, I might be a Catholic, and I might be a Long Islander ... but I am an American first and foremost.

If it wasent written by a Hispanic 5th columnist I would have guessed it came right from the Oval Office.

So Hispanics have no credibility when it comes to the immigration issue.

Nearlly all Hispanics are of the same mindset. They want amnesty/legalization for these illegals because most of them are of like ethnicity. They buck at any attempt of enforcement of our immigration laws. Prove me wrong.

From the article :

So far this year assaults are slightly up, but data is incomplete.

There is another thread stating crime is down in the City but way up in rural.
