Who said the People of NM, want to extend the right to drive to illegals? The law makers passed the law, the people in the state didn't ask for it, just like the city councilpeople in Los Angeles voted to boycott AZ, the people in the city did not and probably will not. There is a huge difference between what people want and what the government decides should be law. Isn't the health care bill an example of that?

OK, are you ready for this? We've been invaded by Chinese JUNK, now that's a form of illegal immigration, except for the fact that the crap comes here in containers on a boat.
Would any of you really rather have Chinese illegal immigrants? Or, more of them?
Big problem there. We CHOSE to buy "Chinese Junk" we do not chose to have illegal immigrants flowing over the border depressing wages and straining the social nets and public services. There is no way to equate Chinese junk with illegal immigration, because it is brought over here legally to begin with. I regards to the article you posted, well what can I say? the "problem" started when America became a post industrial society, into a service based one. Education is key to success in this country, and unfortunately people are failing in that aspect. Do you think it's fair for me to spend years in college to further my earning potential, then have to pay more at places like Walmart so that the security guard and checkers make a decent wage? we have various trade schools with government subsidies to help people become educated, so that they earn more. I have no pity on people working minimum wage jobs. You also have to look at this from a global standpoint, if we turn to protectionism and erect trade barriers we will have a lot higher rate of poverty, because those cheap goods you enjoy will cost quite a bit more. Bottom line: low skilled jobs= less pay. I do not believe in redistribution of wealth.. only the poor and power hungry believe in that... I think there is a word for it...?? does anyone remember??
