I hope this bill dies like the gun control bill.

I think the bill will die because they're trying to add provisions for gays in there.

I agree with gays being allowed to sponsor their spouses just like straight people do, but if adding that provision to the bill kills it...then fine. When DOMA falls we can address the issue of gay immigration on its own.

LOL! Good strategy. I hope they do stick a provision about gay rights, public transit funding, labor rights, alternative energy, or any kind of gun regulation in there, tee hee That'll get all the Republicans against it.

10 million Hispanic voters. Over 100 million non-Hispanic voters. Do the math. Blacks aren't voting for the Dems based on some so-called immigration reform.

this is exactly what people need to realize when it comes to bills: too often garbage or off topic additions are made that ruins what was meant to be a good law. I agree, gays should have rights, but it should not be put into this particular bill. They are 2 separate issues.

A lot of illegals and their supporters are against this bill also because it doesn't allow exactly unlimited numbers of new immigrants in. They're angry that it would say those who arrived since 2011 can't get in on the big amnesty and they're demanding that citizenship with all the government benefits of it be given to them immediately and they don't want the $500 fee. They're also very angry about the part that requires wages over poverty level because that will make it more difficult for the new citizens to get on welfare handouts.

Doesn't make any differince --- no illegals would vote for Republicans if they were handed their easy citizenship. One problem they brought upon their own nations is that they are a one party kind of people, the majority of them will vote for democrats the way they vote only for PRI no matter how terrible their own country is for them.
